It was an underwhelming episode overall. I felt bad for Aemond, poor thing Alys rivers came in quietly but we all know she's significant. The conversation between the 2 girls was annoying. As writing goes its important to create that tension and letting the characters operate from a misunderstanding seems appropriate, sometimes those misunderstandings dont need to be resolved, cuz we the audience know the full picture but the characters don't need to, hence they're choices make a more compeling story. This realisation between them was such a callback to the messy writing of GOT s7/8.

hey TheBattProductions, another great recap. Let me point out something I think people are missing. The Aegon Viserys is talking about in his death bed is Rhaenyra's son Aegon. In the 1st episode of the show season 1 he talks about his dream to his 1st wife Aemma who is pregnant, of a son who will be born to him wearing Aegon's crown. Then she and the child dies and Viserys thinks that Allissant's son maybe the Aegon from his dream but when he goes on the royal hunt all the omens tell him Aegon is not the future king (all that business with the white Stag). After that Viserys kind of gives up on his dream. Until on his death bed when he meets Rhaenyra's Aegon, he realises that he is the Aegon from his dream. Sorry for the long coment but I think it makes this way more interesting.

I think in the show canon, a dragon can indeed bond with another rider if they are unridden for a long time. Even if the former rider is alive. First we had Jon ride Rhaegal while he was still bonded to Daenerys. This can be used to explain the claiming of Seasmoke by one of the Dragonseeds whilst Laenor still lives across the narrow sea.
@TheBattProductions2 ай бұрын
It sounds like in show canon that is definitely the truth, which I don't know is BAD - I just didn't think it was a *thing* until last night. Well that's also interesting because I'm not sure Rhaegal was technically bonded to Daenerys per say...like Drogon I guess was "hers" but I dunno...show canon! I'm excited to see Seasmoke get their rider finally...GETTIN RESTLESS
@saptarshisengupta82352 ай бұрын
@@TheBattProductions Well we saw Daenerys command "Dracarys" to all 3 of her dragons simultaneously in the House of the Undying in Qarth. So Rhaegal and Viserion definitely shared some kind of "Bond" with her. It probably was not as strong as the one she shared with Drogon though, as we see explicitly caress Drogon on her lap many times when he was young. Rhaegal and Viserion were definitely her two "less favourite Children" lol. 😂 I guess that bond weakened over time with Rhaegal and Viserion being imprisoned inside the pyramid for a long time, and being out of touch with her, and Daenerys subsequently choosing to ride Drogon and not the other two during all her battles in Season 6, 7 and 8. Weak enough for Rhaegal to develop an alternate bond with Jon - Enough to let the man ride him, but never command him like Daenerys did.
@TheBattProductions2 ай бұрын
@@saptarshisengupta8235 They definitely have some sort of bond but she doesn't ride them and as you know, they refer to dragonriders as riders of specific dragons. Honestly, I’m not 100% sure how I REALLY feel about the episode. When the credits rolled, the first thing out of my mouth was “THAT’S IT?” But last week’s episode was so damn amazing that I feel like anything short of epic would’ve been a bit ‘meh’ as a follow up. I will say though, while I do find it ridiculous how easy it apparently is to sneak into King’s Landing, I am kinda glad we got the Rhaenyra/Alicent scene. Might just be me, but I’ve never been a big fan of the misunderstanding trope in film or books, and was a bit annoyed the show added the “oh, well, Viserys changed his mind” aspect. Like: “No. Y’all usurped the throne. Stop hiding behind your excuses and take responsibility for your actions.” The misunderstanding is all cleared up, that flimsy justification is gone, so I’m happy now. As I said, that’s probably just me though.
@TheBattProductions2 ай бұрын
I think that's a pretty fair bit of feedback on this...I also thought the episode ended maybe a little prematurely but the big theme was avoiding war at all costs...and at least the final scene laid out why war HAD to happen for everyone involved, even those who didn't wish harm on the other side. I thought it ended well even if it wasn't my favorite. King's Landing is just a freaking parade at this point. Get in whereever and whenever you want. Like an orgy. The Targaryen Greens thing is interesting with the misunderstanding because it seems Alicent and Cole probably were the only ones who put Aegon on the Throne because of the misunderstanding, but Otto and his shadow cabinet were gonna try to do it anyway. So in a way they do acknowledge the usurping no matter what, but Alicent is left as the fool.
