There is nothing more Targaryen than Rhaenyra walking into camp having freshly conquered an enemy, dressed in red and black, covered in blood, surrounded by fire. Interestingly enough both Rheanyra and Daemon do this in this episode.

The director of this episode said that Rheanyra, Viserys and Daemon emerge out of episode 3 reborn with new perspective on who they are and what their purpose is. Well we just saw Daemon hear that help is coming and he can finally take a breather, but instead he rows out on his own, feigns surrender, and like a coiled snake he strikes cutting down 16 MEN all on his own like he’s playing Middle Earth: Shadow Of Mordor or Devil May Cry 5, gets saved by his army, and then kills the Crab Feeder and drags his corpse out showing off his new trophy! Daemon just leveled up to Legendary Badass level with that scene alone. As for Rheanyra and Viserys, I love the paths they are taking. Viserys just wants to be a good king and a loving father but he’s still struggling with traditions. While Rheanyra has those beautiful heart to heart moments with Criston Cole, and even though there is some chemistry you can see it’s not romantic, just 2 people being completely honest with each other. Plus the way she walks into camp covered in the blood of her kill 🔥🔥 those men weren’t looking at her as a prize but as a badass princess they would happily kneel to.

There's definitely a way to talk too much in a reaction video. I don't mind the way Adam and Jay time their conversations, but there are absolutely reactors who don't know how to balance actually paying attention with trying to be "on" for the whole reaction. There's nothing more frustrating than someone who talks over essential exposition or character moments and then doesn't understand what they're watching.
@coreyb.54622 жыл бұрын
For me, it’s not the fact that they are talking, it’s the fact that this is an epic drama and Adam thinks it’s time to plan his next stand up comic set. It’s forced and he needs validation, hence the fact that he spends most of his time looking at Jay and not the show (so great! He’s not listening OR watching… is he really “reacting” to the show then?) I’d say 75% of the time it’s done in moderation, which is why I stick around. It’s their channel and they can do whatever they want. If it gets to be unbearable for a certain series where I just don’t want constant jokes, I just stop watching those particular videos and find them again when an episode of she-hulk comes out.

About Otto suggesting Aegon and Rhaenyra: Otto isn’t really going to be satisfied until Rhaenyra is dead or disinherited. Ideally, in his mind, both. But, just as he suggested Viserys naming her his heir as a device to get rid of Daemon, who he saw as the bigger threat, now he wants to neutralize Rhaenyra so Aegon can ascend. He doesn’t really want the siblings betrothed but any other husband besides a two year old for Rhaenyra is a danger to Otto and his plans. If she marries someone who’s wealthy and powerful - and Viserys would accept nothing less because of his daughter’s station - Otto wouldn’t be able to control that man. Such a man might support his wife, with his wealth and armies, in her claim that she’s ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. Otto doesn’t want a powerful house backing Rhaenyra; he wants her isolated and close at hand in the palace so he can keep control of her. He has control of Rhaenyra because he has control of Viserys. If worse comes to worse, Aegon marries his half sister. There’s not much downside there for Otto. As things stand, that only strengthens Aegon’s position. Everyone would either look to him as the “real” king or, at worst, he’d be king consort and his children with Rhaenyra would continue to rule. Either way, the kings would come from Otto and his daughter, ultimately. He’d be the grandfather and great grandfather to kings. More likely, he’d find a way, in the next several years, to move Rhaenyra out of the picture or make Aegon put her aside when he finally gets old enough to marry as being too old for children.

In the very least aren't played as pathological, mustache twirling, vile bastards or just easy marks who make shit choices. There's a few protagonists you can actually get behind and like in this show unlike the last seasons of the original. Hell, even Daemon (who is no question still a bad guy) is given moments of complexity, which was surprising. They've decided to have real character development and writing in this show instead of stretching it out with unsatisfying shitty soap opera moments. It's nice to finish an episode of GoT that is enjoyable and satisfying. They just keep getting better.

Daemon is just epic, no questions asked. Laenor riding Seasmoke was both spectacular and had me like, who-what? Haha

There are three MAIN kills in this episode. the king the princess and the prince. the king needs people to hold the stag for him for him to do the kill and even then he needs a second chance because that’s not who he is he’s not a person to kill he is a more peaceful person. the princess will kill only when she has to. when you see the stag come to her in the end she tells Cole not to kill it because there’s no need. Daemon shows strength by killing he put himself in harms way and took out many of the barbarians Pirates and the crab feeder.

Someone I heard or read said the reason CGI animals like the deer in HOTD look wrong is because they're real animals and we know what they look like and how they move. The dragons, however, look fine because we don't see them in real life and don't know how they should look or move.

Good catch on the fingers. I didn't catch that the time I saw the episode. Great reaction!

Anyone else concerned that the Crab Prince obviously has severe grayscale and Daemon dragged the body by the bare hand? Also did anyone else notice that the King is now missing two fingers on the hand injured by the throne? Edit: Ok you saw it. I actually got a little Jon Snow vibe from Daemon during that battle scene. And to your Band of Brothers reference, not only did he do it once, but then he ran all the way back.
