I hope it shows the looks on the faces of all the small folk as the head passes by. In the book, it's meant to be a Triumph of sorts - like Caesar parading Vercingetorix through Rome. Instead of throwing up applause however, the citizens of King's Landing are disquieted. To us, seeing such a sight would be like watching the first nuke go off on the news in some foreign country. Alicent eventually has to bar the exits to the city on account of so many people trying to leave in the days after.

You are right, the storming of the Dragon Pit is coming: In George R.R. Martin's Fire and Blood, the storming of the Dragonpit happens while Rhaenyra is reigning in King's Landing. The common people rise up in a deadly riot, which a religious prophet known as the Shepherd spurs on, telling the fearful public that the only way to be saved from a fiery death when Aegon's army arrives at the city is to kill the dragons kept in the Dragonpit. The four dragons kept chained inside - Shrykos, Morghul, Tyraxes, and Dreamfyre - are all attacked and butchered by the rioters. Dreamfyre flies into the ceiling of the Dragonpit during the chaos, which brings half of it down and kills everyone inside, including Dreamfyre herself. As the carnage is unfolding, Rhaenyra's son Joffrey Velaryon, whose dragon is Tyraxes, secretly takes his mother's dragon Syrax and rides the creature over the city, heading for the Dragonpit. Sadly, though, Syrax doesn't want to accept a different rider and shakes Joffrey off. He falls to his death from Syrax's back.

Notice how Rhaenys tied herself to her Dragon before the fight with leather belt. She new that if her Dragon dies, she will die with her. It was symbolic, but when she orders her Dragon to attack (even though she saw Vhagar and should have flee), she literally wanted to die that very day, in combat and with her dragon. There will be more deaths like this, as this time Martin's books are already written. It is gonna be GoT's Red Wedding almost every episode now, but worse as they will keep killing Dragons... 😥

I liked this change of detail. If im not mistaken cause i haven't read the books, what happened originally is that they went on a 2 vs 1 battle, not like what happened in the episode where Rhaenys went for Vhagar after she's done with Aegon, and that it was Meleys's fires that burned him, not Vhagar. Although the past episodes did build up to Aemond eventually getting tired of his brother.

The worst thing about this battle for me was the fact that Aegon just wanted to prove himself to the people who forced him to wear the crown and then treated him like a loser. He was scared and Sunfyre was helpless, he saw Vhagar and you could see how relieved he felt thanking the Gods. And the Aemond burned him alive. That was the saddest part of the whole episode for me. The betrayal.

Episode 4 truly cemented Aemond as a villain in my eyes. He can pretend what he did to Lucerys was an accident all he wants but this was premeditated.
