Seasmoke was unclaimed not untamed/wild. The three untamed/wild dragons are cannibal, sheepstealer and Grey ghost. All still unclaimed at the end of the episode I do agree the crickets are something coming but just like with the miliped's last ring has no legs, that was set up for something to come later or alicent being caged in the castle and silenced by being thrown off the council

lmao the way he ignored her at the meeting was embarrassing, I would have left after being ignored once and packed my bags before the blacks came for the castle. All she could to is write to her daddy. Larys was shaking with fear at that table and gave Aegon his best performance. Technically Aemond is missing an eye so it's the battle of the disabled. Aegon needs this rehab and hopefully he will learn and be better. Aemond is smarter than Aegon for wanting Otto as his hand.

Rhaenyra being queer is something from the book. She is mentioned of having a relationship with Laena and something between her and Mysaria is hinted at. I'll be very disappointed if they cut out Nettles. I didn't want to believe what someone said a few years ago that the Velaryons being black will be used to exclude other black characters like Nettles out, but that appears to be happening, which means that while I am enjoying this season, I will be docking points heavily for that.

Honestly, I'm tired of the book fans and fandoms, in general--this is an adaptation, another "dimension" or "universe" where events and happenings diverge. I understand being disappointed when one's favorite parts of the lore are changed, but it makes the most sense to judge an adaptation according to its own merits as opposed to constantly comparing it to the source material. We've only very recently gotten a bit more character development from Rhaena--thematically, and for the sake of time, it makes more sense to continue down that path than to introduce a wholly different character. Who cares whether the book fans like it or not.

this is the one show where divergence from the books is a major asset and actually adds to the lore & universe. the book is canonically written by maesters, not one but multiple, each with different propaganda and biases, from their own faulty recollection or from rumors they heard. None of it was ever supposed to be “canon”, you’re SUPPOSED to question what actually happened, who’s telling the truth, etc. Like our own history, told by the victors, written by people paid to spread a certain narrative, and plots that are forced out of thin air for it to make sense to us even though what really happened was different.

The thing is the people of Kingslanding know about Rhaenyra's blockade but they also see the people in the palace having constant parties and living it up. Heck they were being given rotten fruits to eat while Crispy had a good lemon to waste on his sword. It's like rubbing it in their faces. Aemond doesn't understand why the small folk are angry with them but how can they not be? He shut the gates so they can't even leave to go somewhere with actual food and then he had the nerve to to hold constant banquets where most of the food was probably wasted while the small folk staved. Aemond is being tone deaf here. He's a good military leader and it shows with how iron fist he's being with the council, but there's more to being a King than that. I'm glad he at least understands his limitations enough to request Otto back.

Until Addam claims sea smoke, no one knows that a dragon will take a valyrian as a rider. In valyria, only dragonlords rode dragons. Velaryons were not dragon riders in valyria. I think what we just watched is the realization for this universe that valyrians who have mixed with targaryen blood over generations have a chance of riding with or without a recent targaryen ancestor. I say that bc while laenor had a targaryen mother, he hatched a dragon. But Addam claimed one with only his father's valyrian blood. It also explains why addam could claim and darklynn was killed. He had targaryen ancestor but no other valyrian blood. Addam has valyrian blood that is generationally mixed with the targaryens as they have been inter marrying for centuries by the time corlyss has addam and allyn

Aemond trying to say Larys devotion to his family is in doubt because of what he did to his brother and father when him betraying his family is the reason Otto became hand again plus Larys became the Lord of Harrenhall and inherited all the riches while Aemond tried to kill Aegon and couldn't finish the job and only gained a temporary position. I'm glad Alyss broke Daemon down because he needed to understand that he can't do this without Rhaenyra just like she needs to understand she can't win without him. The white worm's idea of sending the food was the chess move that Rhaenyra needed because she lost the people when the little boy got his head cutt off. Seasmoke was the mvp of the episode. As usual, Adrian, you make me laugh out loud with your episode recap and commentary. I am disappointed in the possibility that Nettles won't be introduced. It would have been a great opportunity for a more realistically diverse Seven Kingdoms world with a Black, Hispanic, Indigenous, Latino, or South Asian actor to take the role. In the book, Nettles and her claimed dragon, Sheep Stealer's story is mysterious because this peasant girl, Nettles, was able to claim a dragon and be part of dragonseed riders that side with Rhaenyra's claim for the throne. Nettles and Daemon become close and there is speculation on the dynamics of their relationship. Daemon sends them away for their own safety when Rhaenrya becomes jealous and angry over Daemon and Nettles' relationship. Neither are seen or heard from again. If Rhaena and Nettles' characters are combined in the HBO series, my theory is that Rhaenyra will become angry that Rhaena will abandon her half-brothers (Aegon and Viserys) in pursuit of being a dragon rider and gaining her father (Daemon's) respect. Rhaena puts them on a ship from the Vale but Aegon and Viserys' ship is attacked by the Greens, which could lead to more grief and anger for Rhaenyra. It could be possible that the series will continue to continue the estrangement between Rhaenyra and Daemon with Rhaenyra suspecting that Daemon and his daughter will join forces to usurp her claim to the throne. Rhaenyra becomes increasingly paranoid in the book. Daemon will send his baby girl away to safety but hopefully Rhaena and Baela will reunite. Just a thought.
