I think it because Daemon heard exactly what the trees said. It’s been shown all season the the common motif for the heart tree is that it whispers in the wind or with whoever is around. This has happened many times especially during Daemon’s scenes near it so I wouldn’t be shocked if he pretended not to hear it & throw off dude with a bit of sarcasm.

I don’t like ulf’s disrespectful bs. I was worried they couldn’t rap up what Daemon is going through in this episode, but they did. It was awesome. I teared up when Daemon bent the knee to Rhaenyra. I love ser Simon as always. Alicent is actually trying to be a decent mother and person. It’s a little late but I guess better than never. I love Baella, she’s so good for Jace. And Jace is a bit of a mess. I almost felt bad for Aemon went Helaena checked him. It was obvious the truth hurt coming from her. This was an awesome episode, I loved it.

Don’t forget this season has clashed a lot with George’s vision. He has made that very clear in his blog - and we know he is upset because that is his restrained response. I don’t think we can say this vision proves anything about the books as I don’t believe this vision comes from George. And yes the books have people chasing prophecy but the theme is how prophecy is wrong and trusting in it fails you every time (the fickle prick biting mistress) while this show is making it seem like following this prophecy is the true and right path.

They said it had nothing to do with budget or the writers strike or anything else. It was supposed to be 10 episodes, but it didn't make sense to end it at 10, considering HOW they want to tell the story.

I have the theory that the Prince that was promised/Azor Ahai isn't just one person. The dragon has three heads. So I'm not mad to see Daenerys being confirmed as one of those three heads, we pretty much already knew that from the first book onward. Jon Snow is the second one and I'm gonna go on a whim now and say, in the books, Young Griff is going to be the third. Even if he's a Blackfyre, he still has that dragon blood. (Unless the books do a one-eighty and confirm Tyrion as a bastard of the mad king and reveal him as the third head. That would be interesting.)

I'm not a fan of seeing animals suffer or die, even when I know it's fictional. It doesn't really matter how much time has passed when it comes to the loss of a beloved pet. I'm so sorry that your sweet kitty passed away during covid. I hope the covid restrictions didn't hinder your ability to say goodbye to the love of your life. Were you able to be with your best friend at the end? I'm very grateful that I was able to hold Mingus's head and look into his eyes as he drifted away into whatever was next for him. I'm sure your kitty knew you were with her, no matter the circumstances. I hope, if you want to, you're able to find another great friend in a new animal. They are all different, and that's a good thing. I hope another one will make your heart light and your smile bright. Unfortunately I wasn't able to go in with her any time I took her to the vet, but I found a company that did at home euthanasia and they were wonderful. She passed at home in her favorite spot in my arms. I was the last thing she saw as I watched the light leave her eyes. It was so hard to see, but she went quickly and without pain. I'm glad you were also the last thing Mingus saw. We are our pets entire world. I also hope you're able to get another sweet baby to love on. You're a lovely person! I thought this was a great end to the series, bringing the characters back where I wanted them to be. I also liked the dynamic of the women turning the tide after feeling so helpless earlier. My favorite part was when Rhaenyra told Daemon not to leave her again and he says he won't be able to, and he tried. :D

Gray , I don't know if I can watch next season . I mean I want to but the Dragon's are my loves !!!! They make them so realistic and give them these personalities and I just can't stand what is gonna go down !! I Understand that there’s one paragraph about Daemon in the river lands and to fill in the missing part but With that being said I wish they would have did at least half a episode of Jace and Cregan Stark in the north to stretch out the story that way also. It would have gave depth to Jace and Cregan stark !

He said “What’s the point of it all then?” I told him one of the main points is about the futility of it all, of all the death. All the grief. Then I reminded him about GoT having no battles the first season and only one at the end of the second.

They invented a fight between Daemon and Rhaenyra... then they had him dreaming for the whole season... then they end all that by having them talk for 20 seconds ??? she had zero conversations about anything, not strategy, not the war, not their argument, nothing... there was much longer Dialog between Alicent (who can't do anything) than there was with Daemon... smh they had Daemon Spot a turn cloak and DO NOTHING ABOUT IT... how does that make sense... given what we know of the character?? (the same man who is going to betray them later, told Daemon about his treachery and Daemon just what ? blew it off ?? what is wrong with people... they can't even spot egregious writing... being a GOT fan is not just about people talking!, all great shows have great dialog.... IT HAS TO MAKE SENSE...

Yeah that was weird…this season had high and very low points. They really needed more episodes. Daemon’s character doesn’t change even when they are in KL after they take it over. But we don’t know how much of that is true. Like the whole thing is biased. But based on everything written about daemon in f&b and even the show…he wouldn’t let that slide.

In two seasons of GOT we got the white walker introduced, the Bran falling from tower, introduction of the wall/knightswatch, the Jon Arryn murder mystery with Ned. The Cercei/bastard dilemma, ofc Ned beheading, Jamie prisoner which leads to Jamie/Brien journey, Arya at Harrenhall with Tywin, Return of the dragons, Blackwater battle, faceless men, north of the wall-wildlings It was interesting and held my attention. You never knew what was coming. With this season of HOTD, like when they showed Harrenhall you knew it was some stupid dream shit

when Daemon touched the weirwood I screamed "I fucking knew it!!!" and yes, I watched it at 230AM, scared everyone in the house, anyway - thank Ryan Condall and George RR Martin and whoever else is or may be responsible for Daemon's vision bc I too have been feeling this way for years.....that something happened to him at Harrenhal, not necessarily like what Gray Area said with the being a Greenseer, but clearly reading F&B even though Daemon's riverlands escapades aren't covered in great detail we know somewhere between leaving Dragonstone and gathering all the riverlords something profound happens to him. like Gray Area said, the whole damn ASOIAF universe is steeped in prophecy. I do not like that it seems they are merging Nettles and Rhaena's characters, however I did a mental exercise on how this might go and how it might have been misconstrued in the history books - maybe Rhaena gets that mud brown Vale dragon and rides/commands it well enough to fly to her father, but they do not let anyone know who she is.......as she is suppose to be, by order of the Queen - her own stepmom - in Pentos with the younger boys. I mean, they could make that work......change her name, make her look a bit different, her dad keeps her closer to him bc ya know...the Queen sent her to nursemaid the two youngest princes and she just bounced.......I feel like Rhaenyra would be angry about that, especially if something really bad is about to happen.....and I feel like knowing this, Daemon would keep his daughter close, especially after we've seen Daemon have a vision of Laena asking if he's taking care of their girls. Just saying, I don't like Nettles seemingly being cut.....but this is a way they could make it work....

I didnt hate this season because it lacked battles. It simply lacked direction. Characters would circle around the same thing for episodes on end and hesitate in ways that don't feel true to the characters. Very disappointed.

In terms of the prince who was promised: I think that Dany and Young Griff weren’t meant to marry with him claiming a dragon and her ruling as sovereign. I think that Jon’s arc was supposed to end with him becoming the king in the north, overcoming his status as a bastard.

@GrayArea I guess it's time for us to spam @ HBO for 10 episodes a season. I think my main concern now is they've announced HOTD will end at season 4. That means now things are going to start feeling alittle rushed, obviously this isn't the writers or producers fault but considering how this story is one of mt favorites in George's universe I really want them to take their time with it. The Dance itself spans a long timeline, if HBO actually wanted they could've easily made 10 seasons out of this, but you see how people are complaining because of not getting instant gratification when battles don't happen.. it saddens me because I feel like HBO is responding to that by keeping things too short now.

This review completely misses the mark about the criticism of Daemon's visions and the use of prophecy. It pretends that we don't understand that prophecy and magical elements are central to George's world. What we don't like is pablum prophecy stories written by inferior writers. This can't be compared to early seasons of GoT. They've taken the source material and trashed it, just as Netflix did with the Witcher. Comparing George's work to the Condal and Hess HotD is like the difference between a top end ice cream shop, and a freezer burned store brand ice cream sandwich.

I think after the mess of Game of Thrones there were a lot of people that wanted a spinoff show to succeed. I know I did. But the errors and bad writing and inexplicable changes from the book became too much. I knew we were doomed when they had travel so easy between King's Landing and Dragonstone, and that first ridiculous meeting between Alicent and Rhaenyra in KL. It's become a fanfic secret romance between Rhaenyra and Alicent now. How anyone can take the show seriously after Alicent asked Rhaenyra to run off with her, is beyond comprehension.

Cole said he left a host at rooks rest to guard and rebuild the castle and guard the dragon because sunfyre was long in the dying it was past tense meaning yes he's dead and now aegon says he's dead im pretty sure they killed him just one of many reasons im really annoyed with this show also the nonsense with alicent and Rhaenyra going to see each other is ridiculous plus them basically trying to push the narrative that the blacks are the good guys this isn't the dance of the dragons its bad fan fiction
