As someone who read Fire & Blood about 5 years before the show came out I was very impressed with season 1. Basically all the characters seemed true to the text with many added nuances. Knowing what happens in season 2 I expect it to be incredible. The battles and events that take place will make for excellent drama

Prince Aegon and Queen Alicent line desapeared. If this war hasn't happened the Targaryens would still had dragons and keep the throne. They became unworthy after fighting kin against kin.

@@rbasi25 Dan and Dave helped make GoT special and unique though, as well as helped ruin it completely in the end. That's part of the paradox; that they both created a lot of the magic and completely destroyed that same magic later. For an example of what's missing without them you only have to look at this show. Compare it to GoT and it's dry as plywood. You read GRR Martin's words on the page and they're interesting and very readable, but those two showrunners definitely added something. They had such a good grasp of which storylines to prioritise, which characters to focus on, how to frame big moments, how to make things feel epic and mysterious in a way that they didn't always on the page. GoT was a one-off; and they might have tanked the whole thing with that abomination of a final season, but they were also part of the alchemy that made it so special for so long.

I’m so surprised how put together this trailer is considering they’re still in the early stages of VFX and CGI. But my god have they stepped up their game!! I can tell the actors are putting everything into this. This season will truly be heartbreaking. Rhaenys words are haunting considering what’ll happen. My heart weeps for Helaena 😢 Rhaenyra is looking so regal as always and JEEZ! I knew Vhagar was huge but that puts it into perspective. Okay now time to rewatch it a billion more times 😍

CGI professional here with VFX background. CGI for this trailer wouldn't take quite as long since most of the dragons are the same from season 1, and none of the dragons had close-up shots, which require a different model with more precise detailing. And when the same CGI model can be used for different shots, VFX is done individually for each shot. So it's possible that most of the scenes VFX are not done yet, only the ones used in the trailer were top priority. It's also possible that they will switch it up and these same shots will have subtle visual differences in the show.

@@anthonyjost4067 it was and it wasn't at the same time. the thing is sunfyre was placed in the open alone as a bait so could meleys attack him and be busy in fighting sunfyre as vahgar attack from above taking down meleys, this plan was set to kill meleys because she's faster than vahgar so they had to keep her busy so vahgar can take the time to attack and during that sunfyre had to be the bait and fight meleys alone and that's why he got severely injured with his rider. They can still throw in curveballs such as Baela turning up at the end of Rooks rest to see Meleys and Rhaenys ripped apart. Then she captures a glimpse of Vhagar which makes her flee. Setting up her attacking Aegon later. The scene with Rhaenyra at Storms end is new, it’ll be interesting to see if she find Arrax’s and Luke’s remains. Plus is that Rhaenyra meeting with Laenor or Addam or Helaena and Alicent? I know some people get annoyed by changes but if I want fire and blood I know where that is. This is a tv adaptation so I don’t blame them for going with a more entertaining option. As long as the writing and acting stays consistently good then I’ll have no complaints.

@kandiekane. it was more of a philosophical question. I know what happens. I've read fire and blood a couple of times now. George is great at diving into the idea of things having a price attached to them, one that you might not realize or see, and in the end, leaves you questioning was it worth it. You see this with a lot of his characters that either pursue power or have power thrust upon them, especially during times of conflict.

In fact , you wouldn't ever get to know that , that which side is won. Cuz you r dead now. Going by the books, it's slightly more complicated than that. Yes, Rhaenyra's sons rule after her but they do so "officially" as the heirs of Aegon the 2nd. Aegon is remembered as the legitimate king after the war and Rhaenyra as a usurper, so neither side 100% won I suppose.@@kandiekane.

​@@DracosCombatI thought that was going to be weird at first, but it works pretty well in this story. Visually it helps to distinguish the difference between Targaryens and Velaryons. It also heightens everyone's awareness that Rhaenyra's kids are not true born. We also have never seen Valyria at its height so it's not completely out of the question that there would be other races present. Plus the actor that plays Corlys has been excellent.
