Hey guys, is there any room for another member of the World Touring Band? My resume includes being 81 years old, playing guitar 7-8 months, still being a poor guitarist with total inability to play an "F" chord, owning a Yamaha FG730 and a Fender Squire Affinity, both of which I will never be any good at. I'm available to travel, polish your guitars, change strings and laugh like hell at myself.

I have to say, you do the BEST teaching on KZbin...I commented a while back that I put the guitar down 30 years ago. I had to raise the 2 guys and really didn't have time anymore, so you can say that I am a few years older than you. I went out about 7 months ago and coughed up 800.00 for a good guitar, you have me going again, the only problem is my motor skills have slowed down tremendously. Thanks for getting me back...great job!!
I appreciate the way you break down the lesson into the precise fundamentals, this is one of the best online tutorials I've seen

I suggest to you sir, without trying to be snarky, bring up The Animals playing this song on yt. Please pay attention to what they do at the end of each verse. They end the verse then play, without vocals, the chords of the verse. After this instrumental part is completed they then do the next verse with vocals, followed by another verse of no vocals. So vocal, no vocal, vocal, no vocal, etc til the end of the song. The Animals doing House of the Rising Sun from some show in the 60s. On yt. KZbin.

I love how in-depth this tutorial is. I have watched others on KZbin for this song but they just seemed to gloss over important details (like don't pick the last E when raking, or pick three down then three up ect.). Maybe it is just because they assumed that we already know them? Anyway, it is absolutely helpful when every little detail is covered and variations of the playing style are added. You need to assume everyone is an absolute beginner (because I am) and not assume people already know things. If they do, great, it just means that they can skip that part. Or maybe they will see it from a new perspective. Thank you so much for the details!!!

It’s bad, but really it’s not that bad. You can get the basic chords down after a while. Just keep practicing over and over again while watching TV. Playing the guitar chords is a lot of muscle memory. Slowly it will come to you. Don’t force it. Just do a little bit every day. Make up a few little songs for yourself. And then play around with strength patterns at the same time

Typically acoustic guitars have nylon strings (meant for finger style) but some guitars have steel strings and those are more used for strumming style
@oscarespinoza69964 жыл бұрын
magnus skaug actually acoustic guitars are supposed to have steel strings for strumming and sometimes fingerpicking but its easier to fingerpick on a classical guitar since they have nylon strings that are not hard on your fingers when pressing down on the chords

I only recently started learning, this is one of the channels I always go to for tips and inspiration. I like this lesson in particular. From easy to advanced, there's always something to pick up and improve on. For example, as I still struggle with chord progression, I found playing a Dm instead of the D makes it easier to get to the F, and also from C to Dm is a bit easier for me. And it sounds just as good.
