I am a registered Democrat but think and act like an independent. Democratic representatives NEED to wake up on this issue. A minority group of Trans-women and allies should not be influencing and re-writing legislation that has protected and advanced the rights of women. These rights were put in place so that women who have often been historically discriminated against due to our biology. When a biological man who.has transitioned to appear as a woman enters women's spaces - everything turns upside down. If Trans-men posed as great a threat to men's spaces there would be an immediate shut-down - but women are expected to shut-up or put-up with this injustice. Democrats you will LOSE this battle because on both sides of the aisle - the majority of Americans know understand the biological differences of men and women. And even liberals like myself, who support gay rights and individuals' rights to transform their bodies as they choose - I recognize there is only so far that I will support a minority struggling with gender dysphoria to dismantle women's rights.

Transgender can create their own sport team, dedicated to transgender, just as the women's group did with a long and hard fight. Foundation layer out to create a team outside of biological men. Get organized, why high jack the biological woman's achievements. If transgender willing to fight for equal right for themselves, organize and fight for a transgender team, get a law passed. My 13 year old daughter had to deal with a boy, who she had gone to school with for her entire school life, knowing him as a boy, only to suddenly, within the first 3 months of her grade seven school year, was shocked to see this boy, who she saw in class on a Friday as a boy, turned up on Monday dressed as a girl with a bit of makeup on and was presented to the class as if he was a new student, with a new female name, and the students we told that he must be addressed by his new female name and pronouns or there would be consequences. On the very next day, this boy walked into the girls changing room while the girls were in different stages of undress before gym, and the girls all screeched trying to cover up, because …there was a boy in their locker room. My daughter and a few of the other girls went to the gym teacher to complain and were sent to the principal’s office for NOT being inclusive and were given detentions for not wanting a boy in their changing room. I didn’t find out about this until my daughter didn’t show up to the detention, so the school called me to inform me of my daughter’s “offensive” behaviour. That didn’t go well for the school. I asked my daughter what happened, and how many other girls were against this, we called the parents and we all decided that if this boy entered the girls changing room again, that all the girls would walk out. Thankfully, not one girls in her class accepted having a boy in their changing room, even the girls that had woke parents who agreed that the boy was now a girl, walked out and refused to comply with the school’s position of allowing this boy to invade their private area. “It’s just weird” was the consensus. 14 girls walked out, and even a few boys who knew the situation refused to participate in the activities of the gym class in support of the girls. Those who participated were all threatened with expulsion if they did not accept this boy into the female changing room. The following week, not one child participated in the gym class and they all sat on the bleachers refusing to participate, so..the parents were called in on this topic, unfortunately for the woke school board, over 90% of the parents disagreed with allowing a boy in the girls changing room. Problem solved right? Wrong. The board completely ignored the parents and called them transphobic bigots and voted to allow the boy to continue changing in the girls changing room. In the end, the kids, actually accepted the kid for what he “thought” he was. He was a good kid, well liked, and they had all grown up with him, and treated him civilly…..because…. he himself agreed with the kids. He never wanted to change bathrooms in the first place, and never expected that they would make him change with the girls. He asked to change in a separate room. It was the school that told him that he had to change in the girls room, he never asked for it or wanted to change with the girls, so he was on their side and joined them in their walk out. So, the school, to their dismay, had to concede because the trans kid didn’t even agree with their position on him changing with the girls, it was the school that caused the division not the kid. This was back in 2016, the trans kid only presented as such for that particular school year, which he later stated that the school councillor was the one that had put this idea in his head and convinced him that he was trans. The councillor abused her position and the trust of the child by making him believe that he must be a girl if he was a feminine boy. She pushed this trans nonsense on him. Over the summer, when he got away from the groomer, the kid went back to being a boy, a feminine boy, but a boy, not a girl, then came out as later as gay a few years later. It’s the schools that are indoctrinating our kids. It’s far worse now than it was back then. These child groomers need to be fired and possibly charged with this child trans indoctrination and for their sexualization of children and grooming, this is child abuse. Be well.

I had a serious conversation with my 22 year old daughter about trans women. She, and people her age, don't have any issue with someone who identifies as trans. That being said, I asked my daughter how she would feel if she would have been bumped off the Development Academy (soccer) team by a trans woman. I asked her how she would have felt if she wouldn't have received a college scholarship to play soccer because of a trans woman. My daughter spent countless hours since she was five practicing and competing in soccer. She said she would have been crushed to lose a spot because of a trans woman. We must protect our daughters from this unfair invasion.

The whole idea of "gender identity" is such nonsense. I'm 60 and have always been active in sports. My high school didn't have softball when I was a student. We (girls) had to get a petition in order to have a school team. Eventually there was a team, but it was too late for me to represent my school. Two years after graduation the first softball team took the field. Protect title IX !!

They even hint at it here, at least a few times. I can sympathize with that, it would be a bummer to compete at maximum ability and still live in the shadows to an extent. So, if that’s a concern worth addressing then maybe mixed teams make some sense. Ultimately however I think it would still be largely imbalanced and activists of course would still find ways to rig the outcomes by inserting trans athletes and claim straight face they are actually females etc.

Why not propose an open category for trans women? Women compete with male bodies, not identities . Why are women feelings suffocated at the expense of trans women feelings ? I think the best way to protect trans women feelings will be to provide them with an open category in sports where women and girls who consent to play in an open category can join them.
