I would like to share that this was one of my favorite movies - like most of the ones y’all have suggested…I’m thinking my people are up in here. I was born in 81 and I think I was in the 3rd or 4th grade when this premiered. My friends mom took us too the movies when it came out and she stormed us out of there when the big guy and his lady were getting busy 😂 Anyway, this was the first time I heard the name Sydney associated with a girl. I knew one Sydney who was a boy, and Sydney Poitier who was obviously also male. And since this movie I loved the name Sydney for a girl. Well guess who named their daughter Sydney? I did y’all. When my girl asked me where I got that name from and I told her it was a movie from the 90’s I got the side eye 😂😂😂 Thankfully she likes her name.

Robin Harris, who portrayed Kid's father, unfortunately passed away about a month after this film was released in 1990. Before this film, he made appearances in Keenan Wayans' I'M GONNA GIT YOU SUCKA, Spike Lee's DO THE RIGHT THING, and Eddie Murphy's HARLEM NIGHTS among others. He's also most famous for his "Bebe's Kids" routine. An animated film "BEBE'S KIDS" was based on his routine. SInce Harris had already passed away before the film was made, comedian Faizon Love provided the voice of his character in the film. It was released in 1992 and received some pretty good reviews. The comedy in it was awesome.

I like how kid has his hair done like Gerald from Arnold. Also wrist in peace to the man that played his dad. He passed right after they made this movie.

I just found this gem. I can tell when you really enjoy a movie and when you don’t, I know you had some laughs but you should totally check out House Party 2, it’s so much funnier because it plays off the jokes of the original while also telling a deeper story, also they didn’t like each other when they first met in real life before they became best friends. That’s why it’s part of the story. They have another one called Class Act, you should check out the trailer.

The guy with the high pitch voice also plays a small role in the movie "Who's The Man" with Ed Lover and Dr Dre (from the show "Yo MTV Raps" back in the day)
