Keep these videos coming... most electricians I follow on KZbin kinda show the before and then after with very little inbetween information. But u guys are showing the continuous progress with part 1, 2, 3 videos so well in.

Thank you. It can be difficult at times to film parts of the job in detail because at times you need to get the work done and if filmed over several days there might be other trades on site who don't want to be in the camera. I feel the rewire part 1, 2 and 3 has been the best videos for me and I hope to try and repeat this method on the other work we do. We have a nice new build starting real soon and I hope to record the full progress.

I find when using core cutter if you drill a pilot hole first then when doing cutting its already drilled for guide drill bit and bit easier to get started . Good video look forward to when your doing your testing I'm still getting my head around d testing cheers 👍

Thank you. I did watch over the core drill again and realised James did struggle starting it off. I will pass this on, great point he will appreciate it. 👍 Yes would be good to film the testing i will bare that in mind when we get to that point to record it. Thank you for watching.

Hiya good video just looking at a couple of your jobs why use radial circuits on a couple of full house rewire
@ARElectrics
@ARElectrics 4 жыл бұрын
I had taken this rewire from someone else who had started it. So had to get my head around what was done before I could continue with it to complete for the owners. The down stairs doing just the lounge was wired originally as a radial. I felt that this was sufficient for the number of points and what they were going to be used for. Upstairs I decided to wire radial because there never is a high demand in bedrooms for power and so this would cut down on testing, help to prevent ring final faults which causes more risky problems when people attempt to add sockets to a ring. And also if a cable came out along the circuit sockets wouldn't work and means then it is likely to be rectified earlier on. Pros and cons to either way. I start a big new build in the next week and I'm just deciding on rings or more radials on this one. Thinking ring for kitchen and maybe radials to the bedrooms etc.

If you find deep boxes that the plastering needs to be built up. Sockitz that's the brand name are great for this.
@ARElectrics
@ARElectrics 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I have taken a look was going to order a few see what they're like. But then I thought how do they fix to the back box? Because I think you need to screw the front plate on at the same time. If I did that then the plasterer wouldn't get a trowel between the boxes. There is another solution and that's to use the switch and socket bead. socketandswitchbead.co.uk/ I will get some that you recommended because they will help when I have to get the power back on before plasterer, it will make it a safer installation.

I know I'm going to attract the haters, but please wear glasses, ear defenders and a mask when drilling / coring into brick / block. You only get one pair of each, when was the last time you saw any of them on ebay? Damage can last a lifetime. James, you caught yourself on Camera :)

No haters here. Thanks for watching. And thank you for the advice. We do have lots of ppe on the van and we do use it when I feel I need to. And we have provided James with a kit bag for him full of ppe. You are right and it is important.

Great video. How did james take the news the cable was in the wrong place? 😆
@ARElectrics
@ARElectrics 4 жыл бұрын
He was good about it, rectified the issue with no problems. I also got him to change the capping for next size up as he used inch over 6mm just a tad too tight especially if one of our intentions of capping was so that they can easily be pulled in and out the wall for replacing. Thank you for watching
