My orphan hedge sparrow Noel ( found day before Christmas ) loves this - she has only one wing and a club foot but was saved and she brings great joy to our household AND she survived with care and love as lots told me she wouldent. THX to the lady onthe net who saved her one and gave me hope she is now 6 months old - this is awesome for her as she sings all day!

Actually, this was very useful to me, because I have a baby bird that fell out of its nest. It's a house sparrow and I had to teach it its song because if you don't early on, then they'll never learn and thus become incapable of living in a group. So to answer your question, I guess it was to help people like me.

And I thank you for it :) I was looking for this bird song and this is a great clip!

yeah, same here in Kerétaro, Mexico, seems they tend to adapt more easily to livin' with people, whereas robins, mockingbirds and other songbirds are very rare, one because of the pet trade and two, habitat loss. we feed 'em soaked tortillas and along with the wild doves, they really go for the tortilla!

I played the computer bird sounds to a sparrow sitting on the roof outside. It was so funny to see the reaction. Thanks to whomever recorded this.

... because someone like me might be learning how to identify birds by their call. Today I am sitting listening to a bird through my open window. Last night I listened to chainsawbeks' youtube clip of the sparrow. I think the bird I can hear today is probably a sparrow , so I play the clip again to check ... and yes it is. Thank you very much chainsawbeks for this and all the other bird song clips you have posted. ... next I'm going to learn cloud formations!

Well said. And I for one happen to like watching 'cloads' float by as well. People that take the time to appreciate the beauty of nature - whether the songs and looks of birds, or the clouds in the sky - tend to be much more relaxed. It's a great way to reduce stress. Thank you for taking the time and having the consideration to post such videos, chainsawbeks. Sharing knowledge and beauty is never a 'why bother' situation; it's a gift to those who know how to appreciate it.

Thanks. I found this really useful. I wanted to make an analogy in a piece of writing and needed the right bird to use, now I know what a sparrow sounds like I know it's not the right one. :)

Something is killing the common house sparrow like the honey bees. Notice the sparrow scratching itself.- is it infested with mites or something ? It's sad that the common house sparrow population has crashed . As a kid my grandma used to feed dozens of sparrows and starlings scrap table food in the 1970s. In the 2000s I feed the crows and squirrels - a racoon - skunk and the grey fox but only a few starlings and house sparrows live in my city park - home.

@MrDenizen Point taken but why bother - because not everyone knows its a House Sparrow or what it sounds like. Most of my bird videos are to show the bird and its song!!! Thats the whole point - its an identification thing.

@klb084 Im not really a fan of the Sparrow - they do make a lot of noise here and when they are around there are so many of them!! However, the whole point of my video was to capture the song with the bird - whether I like it or not!

Sparrows are on the endangered list. Sounds crazy, but they are in huge decline. I for one love the sound of sparrows. Much rarer than it was in the 1960's when sparrows nested in the eaves.

@chainsawbeks you can have them all back! lol. Most of us don't like them here. They kill our sweet little Eastern Bluebirds. Not to mention they wake me up at the crack of dawn with that ceaseless obnoxious chirping right by my window. If I scare them off they come back 20 minutes later. Drives me literally into madness.
@paulineb6612 жыл бұрын
I like that their song is simple. They remind me of parakeets.
@namburipavan522711 жыл бұрын
so cute and innocent...but sorry that our future generations may not be able to hear their sweet morning calls...thanks to increasing usage of cell phones and indiscriminate high frequency cell towers...thanks to govt...it has atleast started working on this respect and gave some more life these bird
@micz7213 жыл бұрын
@chainsawbeks Exactly! If you're gonna take that attitude MrDenizen then why bother doing anything? Why even bother watching the video at all? Oh yeah! So you can make a pointless negative comment that you shouldn't really have bothered typing! Anyway thanks chainsawbeks, yes it is an identification thing and I not only identified sparrow song but that MrDenizen is a complete pratt!

They are a problem in America - yes - they are not a native species over there. However they are an endangered species over here in England.

Best birds in the world. Anyone complaining about them will be struck with piles. And corns.
@wynterwren11 жыл бұрын
I have two rescued house sparrows, and they're adorable, smart, affectionate, playful birds. People who complain that they're a murderous, invasive species might want to take a look at where they originated themselves, and what humanity's past has been like. If sparrows are killing indigenous North American birds, then the ones to blame are the people who brought them over here to begin with.
@drail80s13 жыл бұрын
Sparrows are also creatures of God, beautiful in their own special way. They may be unpopular to many, but remember that humans are the most destructive habitants on earth, driving away and killing far more animals than others. My parakeets respond with special interest to the calls of house sparrows while ignoring most other bird calls. I'm not sure why this is but they really seem to take interest in house sparrows.
