That’s a good idea to put the toilet in the hall, giving you more space in the kitchen. If you’re blocking the back door up, you could make it into a galley kitchen and remove the window and put some lovely french doors in to gain extra light and Willow can easily pop in & out to the back garden. Only just found your channel today, so I can’t wait to see how you progress….hope it all goes smoothly, fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Thank you rhubarb 😍 I love your out of the box thinking, not had that suggestion yet and never thought of it. We have yet to total up budget as we decide on garage but we are open to all ideas! Please stick with us as theres lots of dilemmas to follow and decisions to make, 😍❤️❤️

Is there any way you could have your new garage brought forward a bit? That way you would have more space at the side of the house and you wouldn't need to lose the back door. I know personally, losing the back door would be a pain, particularly when needing to go out to the bin, traipsing in and out with the washing, dog etc. So if you could have the garage pulled forward a bit, as you seem to have the room and that would mean you'd have much more space at the side of the house. You might even have enough space then to have a small utility area at the back of the garage which would mean you could have your washing machine & tumble dryer out there and it wouldn't take up precious space in your kitchen. Lee x

Hiya Lee , I think theres building regs about the garage not being in front of the house. If we get a shorter garage that would work better but would only just get car in. I would Love a utility room. 😍 Probably going for a carport instead to give us the space for 2 cars and get to the back without climbing over the step with bins in tow 😂 xxx 😍

We have replaced boiler on 2 occassions. Abt 2003 we put a combi boiler into our loft. Gained wardrobe space & all tanks came out of loft. Cost abt £4K. Then in 2017 we had new boiler in different house which is too big for a combi so just normal boiler cost about £3.5K. Toilet in hall coukd be option BUT no durect entry to kitchen so everything has to ho the long way round. I would do up bathroom upstairs & put in a stair lift. Mikes legs will be grateful too. Wont need downstairs loo then as upstairs is really accessible. Cheaper option as you will have to put a masserator toilet in downstairs, dig into all the sewers add an extractor fan & vent through to outside. Stairlifts are quick & easy to fit. Can be removed & resold later when not required anymore. And you wont have to knock a door into lounge! PS i hope you Re not moving stuff out too soon as you will have a HUGE storage bill. Find some willi g gelpers and use big yellow storage or similar & do it yourself. Sooo much cheaper - maybe £60 p month.

Hiya Linda! Thank you so much, Boiler cost makes sense, costs have gone up so Im hoping our budget of 4k will be ok. ooh they are expensive but I dont fancy a water tank in the wardrobe! I think stairlift will be a good idea for the future regardless, as we haven't been able to find the dream bungalow. My Nan has one and shes 95! Its kept her independence in her own home so I'm a massive fan of them 😍. We still need downstairs loo though, Mikes surgery might mean he will need loo access quite often and quite quickly for wees and chairlifts or stairs will take too long I'm afraid. Macerator would be fine, theres only us so it would be wees only downstairs and solids upstairs lol. Storage will be expensive - about £88 per month but should only be for 2 months (fingers crossed and a back wind) Hope you are well and all is ok xxxx ❤️❤️❤️

Hi Cheryl glad your eye is getting better I would also consider getting a professional oven cleaner it will come up like new.Regarding the central heating look into local or government grant available I had a new boiler installed as my property was over a certain age and no cavity walls.(no financial criteria required)It’s worth looking into good luck Mike with the surgery you both have done really well with the packing xx 🐾🐾

Hello Cheryl and Mike. Drastic plan for your new home! Remove glass doors and block up opening between the two reception rooms. Will need a door from hall to this front room but check, there may have been one originally. This is your new lounge. The rear reception room is your new kitchen/diner. Put the toilet in the kitchen where you first envisaged but don't completely block up the doorway, install a window in a portion at the top. Create a new back door a little further along, good for Willow and hanging out washing. This is your new utility/laundry room. Maybe also install a shower in the toilet area, useful especially for Willow.

Hi Rachel, sounds fab thank you. Would need to price up but sounds lovely. there is an old doorway in the lounge right near the kitchen - its very visible as they have left the wood frame showing 😁and turned it into a shelf on the other side so its probably one piece of board. Just need to decide if a snug room is important but will get a better feel when we move in and see how it works (and how much it costs) Thank you so much, youre a star 😘😍❤️

Hi Cheryl and Mike. Thank you for taking us through your plans. You have a lot to do but it’s exciting in a way getting the house how you would like it. Blocking up the kitchen door, how will you get outside? Through the conservatory? It really is a lovely looking house from the outside front. Looking forward to the next visit. Wishing Mike all the best for his surgery. Well done you two. You’re working hard. Xx
@cheryllifeat504 ай бұрын
Thank you, Looking forward to seeing it again on weds. Yes so the conservatory would be the back door. Not ideal for taking rubbish out but outside the kitchen back door theres a concrete step that needs to come out as it blocks access and its a fair drop so that door would be pretty useless, we would fall out of it 🤣 xx thank you for best wishes, its a nervous time for us xx❤️❤️
