Five words that is the envy of women everywhere..... My husband is a chef! That wall addition and transom look like they were always there. That is quite an accomplishment. It has such a warm and cozy feel. Love, love, love the yellow striped wallpaper... and yes... I did notice the little yellow striped bowls on the shelf!!! I love that!!!!!! Are the two topiary real? They are perfect in that corner! And the curtains are the perfect compliment to the wallpaper. The mix of patterns is everything! Her vision for the living room with a fireplace is right up my alley! With the two windows it made this space the cozy sanctuary it is. Her word comfort says it all. That is the feel I get . Oh to be a little girl sleeping in the sweet sister suite!!!!!! Beyond charming! There is not one single space I don't love. And if you never saw the outside of the home.. you would believe you are in an old home. And the garden arch, picket fence old tree... match her entire aesthetic perfectly. Now I need to go subscribe to her channel!

I totally agree with your comment about how authentic she is and how she really does do the work, and doesn’t pretend to do the work and then hires companies to really do 99% of all of the home renovations. You seem to think very similar to the video tours that we watch in this channel. I feel like the only thing missing is an adorable doggie, which they may do so later. Anyway, take care

I’m so impressed with her ability to turn a modern home into a home with soul. I tried to buy a “practical” home and do the same and ultimately couldn’t do it so moved to an old house that comes ready with a “soul” (and dirt and rats and bugs and rot! Lol)

Love how much of this was done by actual DIY. So many people host these tours and walk around saying stuff like “and then we decided to knock out the wall here” which, inadvertently or not, can make it sound like they personally wielded the power tools etc. But Dana actually did the work and deserves full kudos! Bravo! I am so inspired as I try to breathe some history into our 1998 townhouse with vanilla, builder-grade materials. We've added a stone fireplace, beaten barn beam mantel, beadboard, shiplap, rustic hardwoods, slate, architectural salvage, repurposed old shutters, and a vintage newel post. Still not done! I appreciate Dana's can-do spirit, warmth, and style. Well done!

Was very interested in her rather laborious method of creating the look of paneling in the living room. I got to do something even easier thanks to my 1st handyman, Mr Bill. I bought a house built in the late 1800's so it does have a lot of character mixed with some not so great updates . It was a single that was turned into a 2 fam . To be honest the upstairs was hideous. Ugly colors, discolored wallpaper & cheap fake paneling. I couldn't wait to tear down the gross paneling in the kitchen, but dear Mr Bill warned me it would be a mess and I should simply paint it with Kills then paint over with the cream/yellow I wanted. I resisted, but budget & time restrictions won out. Thirty years later I still love the look of that quaint paneled kitchen as did everyone else. You can't get much cheaper or easier than that! Yes, her bed is fabulous, as is her garden. Super handy and a great painter to boot!
