In this house tour I will show you a barrier-free or low-barrier bungalow for best-agers, the new model house "Freiraum" by Baufritz in the home and garden exhibition in Fellbach near Stuttgart. With 118 square meters of living space, it offers real luxury that is not expressed in the number of square meters, but in the quality of materials and planning and high-quality details.
On this house tour, we also look at what is important if you want to live comfortably, safely and independently into old age in a barrier-free or low-barrier bungalow. The first thing that catches the eye in this bungalow is the high, 40 degree pitched roof, which protrudes two meters from the generously glazed gable, creating a sheltered terrace. The facade is made of sawn spruce. All details such as roof drainage, roof edge, window reveals and canopy have been integrated harmoniously into the overall picture with great attention to detail. Three terraces, a window to sit or lie on and an entrance module with a parcel box and built-in cupboards for rubbish bins and garden tools round off the equipment.

With external dimensions of 13.95 x 7.58 meters including flat roof extension, the bungalow offers around 118 square meters of living space, which is designed for two people. The heart of the house is the living-dining-kitchen area, which is open down to the ridge and has a ceiling height of up to 5.5 meters. The interior design was planned down to the last detail by interior designer Sigrid Krämer and implemented with high-quality built-in furniture in ash and a flicker-free lighting concept.
A tour through all rooms of the bungalow with explanations of the barrier-free and low-barrier concept is available in the video.
As a particularly healthy home, this bungalow is equipped with building materials that have been consistently tested for harmful substances, a special ventilation system, electrosmog protection level in the walls and many other products developed by the house manufacturer itself. It consists of 90 percent of the renewable and CO2-storing raw material wood, and there are no questionable building materials such as plastics, construction foams and chemical insulation materials. All electrical lines are shielded
The technology box, which is completely prefabricated in the factory and used on the construction site by crane, offers a service advantage. This saves around a week of construction time on the construction site and, in addition to the high quality of execution, also guarantees uncomplicated maintenance and even remote maintenance by the house manufacturer.
We received the following price information from the house manufacturer for this barrier-free equipped bungalow:
