To all the people griping about how much money she paid, she said that she is in Canada, where the dollar is only 75% of what the US dollar is. Plus, she clearly didn't use Walmart containers, Ikea furniture or cheap Sterilite bins, so yes it is going to cost more if you go for quality rather than some rickety plastic or second-hand furniture.

As a designer, I think she did a awesome job with the space (500? Feet) the designer made the space look large and airy. Tbh, the space was pretty masculine before. And if they wanted to keep that way, they would have....hence no video. But to all of the keyboard warriors out there, have fun nit picking at what designer get paid big bucks to do.... whether you like it or not. Good day

Your home is beautiful! Congratulations on your new home and choice of designer to help you bring your vision into fruition. Ignore those who are so negative...one comment "ultra feminine cacophony" is just the ridiculousness of someone trying to sound important. Is the kitchen ultra feminine?-NO, is the living room ultra feminine?-NO, is the bathroom ultra feminine?-NO, is the dining area ultra feminine?- NO, is the bedroom minus the wallpaper ultra feminine in all of its elements-NO. Your design is serene, soft, peaceful, elegant and will still be current in 5 years. So a statement wall paper of over sized flowers is what makes the apartment a cacophony of femininity? Over sized flower wallpapers are on currently on trend in restaurants and hotels, as well as high end homes. Most men's masculinity can handle a few flowers. How many male artists paint flowers? Quite a few. And those who say that you could have done everything for 3,000..?.? ?.a new mattress set for a king size bed is 2,500-3,500 alone, and hard wood flooring is $7-15 ($4,000 to $8,000++) a square foot before costs to install which are generally $5-10 a square foot where I live and I guess the same or higher in Toronto. Your designer saved you money on more trendy items like mirrored night stands, and invested on things lie your marble topped dining table--a style classic that has been very popular in design circles for over 50 years and will remain so well into the future. So I hope that you can ignore those who are so negative and really enjoy your new home. Thank you for sharing it with us. Blessings to you.

Can I say that I really appreciated how the budget was mentioned in this one... This just shows why working with a designer makes such a difference. To stretch $30k to make this place look like $100k was spent. Great job!!!

I think the place turned out lovely and I see a lot of excellent methods the designer used. Modern builder apartments tend to be lacking in architectural details, so they added the molding on the walls to give it an upgrade in class and style. It was very effective. This increased the look of space as well. Another major rule is to allow as much light in as possible. This table and chairs works very well for this and doesn't take up much visual space. The table is timeless and cool style, so they'll always love it. Likewise with the clear vanity (again allowing unobstructed view through the window). The more visual space left around the floor area, the more spacious a place will look. This is what you have to aim for with a condo. I think the bedroom wall makes it feel cozy and gives it a lot of class. The mirrored furniture increases the look of light and space as well. The guys I have dated have always been more than happy to let me do the decorating (and foot the bill). They were too busy buying fancy electronics and taking trips. She has good taste here, it came out adorable.

Yes, I agree. For such a small space I wouldn't have spent that much for what is ultimately as functional as your average coffee table. It's a nice place though. Love the wallpaper in the bedroom and the MDF panneling in the lounge is actually really effective. I'd no idea it was relatively inexpensive to create and install.

Lol so many comments saying this design isn’t inclusive of the boyfriend’s design, well did you ever think: 1)maybe the guy doesn’t really care. All he cares is atlest he gets to have a house to go home to. 2)maybe this is the girl’s space, she bought it and paid for it. People seriously need to stop nit-picking on what is missing and JUST APPRECIATE the work. She did an awesome job! This isn’t you girlfriend’s home. So yes just say your complaints to your gf about your space/home your living in and not here :) LMAO!

Glybirdy too feminine for a man’s taste i dont think thats USUAL...specially the bedroom...I’m not sure I like my man to have the same taste as me...liking white and neat is okay but liking girly flurry stuff I feel uncomfortable and surprised if my man would like that..I would understand if he feels uncomfortable but still stay with me because of me and not bec of the style of my bedroom...I’m totally ok if he dont like it in fact i would rather prefer that its not his style I’m fine.

I would also like to add for those who are having a dig at the people being negative- she put it on KZbin. She said herself that it leaves anyone open to the positive and the negative. I have nothing negative to say about the apartment, a designer can make anyplace look like a place in a magazine, that’s their job and if they don’t do this, then they should not be doing this job. I am offended by the justification of the money.

i agree 30k is expensive for a 500 square foot apartment.... but have you tried shopping around for furniture? all the nice things or even the semi nice things are marked up by a lot. It's not impossible but it is really hard to decorate well on a small budget... that's why when she found cheaper than normal items she called it a steal.

This gave me great ideas for my future space. I will especially be looking into faux paneling. I love the living room table set as well. I really love the design but by the end I remembered she had a bf as well. But it seems based on the gf's comment below that she owns the condo alone and fronted the reno bill so it is correct that her bf has to live with her aesthetic (and lets not exclude the fact that he might love it!). They're a new couple that might break up so if its all your money, that's gotta be taken into consideration. No different from if they were living apart and he visited her place and it was designed like this. Personally, I would love to live ANYWHERE that was clean and well designed regardless of if it's my preference, so lucky guy. His friends are living in a mouldy cardboard box while he's living in a petal in the sky lol.

Personally, I think $30,000 is outrageous when every other sentence the designer used included the words, "easy, only, steal, bargain, and not that much"... The majority of the budget must have went towards designer fees, because the furnitures and decor purchased doesn't look expensive. The seating would be a major issue for me because the sofa selection is petite and the rest of the seating is either hard or backless. At the end of her day, all that count is that her client is satisfied customer.

@@chaank1069 This is why nothing made today will last as long or stay as timeless as the things that were made decades ago the material is cheap but the labor is so expensive. no one takes time to do intricate work over pieces or edges or trimmings anymore. And they don't last nearly as long it's sad really. We're paying more for cheaper shit that doesn't last as long or age as well.

In addition to the white paneling, I like the fact that the transparent chairs and vanity were used to make the room seem more spacious. People should seriously just keep it to themselves if they don't like how someone talks. You must sound like Siri if that's how you judge others.

Great job, love it! So glamorous and classy! I myself prefer small spaces after living in bigger homes! Many advantages if you're single or just a couple or a retired person living by oneself or with a couple of pets! Love the coziness of smaller spaces. I feel lost in big trophy homes! That floral wallpaper in the bedroom is sensational and makes a great impact and for some reason doesn't seem to overpower the room. Also love that little kitchen! Small kitchens, less space to clean up, ditto for the rest of the place! Thanks for sharing~

I love how she calls the table ‘an investment’. An investment is something you can recover your cost and then some. I very much doubt you would manage that with that table. Why not just call it what it is ; expensive for a simple table...
@ccxcxz4377
@ccxcxz4377 4 жыл бұрын
There are actually several meanings to the word investment.. Like many words. A furniture investment, for example, can simply mean a well built, quality piece with a hefty price tag, but also a very long shelf life. Buying a cheap table, could mean a few years use before the thing is unsightly, stained and worn, needing to be replaced with likely yet another 'cheap' item. This marble table will be good as new for years/decades, that they could take from home to home. This type of investment is a 'one-and-done' rather than purchasing cheaper 'throw-away' items that need replacement after a couple months/years.

Paris Azul Things definitely do become MUCH cheaper when you do the labor yourself 🤷‍♂️. I could of done this whole house for 10% of what these people paid, especially considering a lot of the shit was not needed. $1200 for a coffee table? Lmfao gtfo with that Hell you could buy a decent house for $30k in a lot of nice areas, and with the amount im sure they pay for rent, they could invest into making said house better. Spending $30k to renovate a fucking STUDIO APARTMENT that they probably pay $1500 a month for plus utilities is called high-class stupidity lol

That's what everybody thinks and yet their houses do not look chic and well decorated. I was always thinking the same too, until I made my first project with an interior designer. They had solutions and ideas that I could never have. And I have good taste and made some beautiful houses (I am own a construction company and also a ''House Collector'' - i have 8 houses for myself in different countries). I'm never decorating a house by myself again. It's just not the same.

It's perfectly fine if you want to do it your self, nobody say you couldn't. But some people feels the need to get help from profesionals, what's wrong with that? Your statement as if you underestimate the designer profesion. Client spent extra money to get profesional taste and knowledge, that's fair.

I like the design for the client but I prefer a more minimal/clean lines style. However, If the client is happy and chose the concepts presented to her then its great. The colours are very nice and that flower wallpaper is amazing in the bedroom...its a WOW factor. The bathroom was amazing as well. What did you do with the small balcony ? That small outdoor space is important too. Great job on a small space. I hope there are more shows apartments up to 1000sq meters
