@georgejobe96111 ай бұрын
I did wonder why they sold their last property before finding a new one. It’s a risk, as prices fluctuate so much and they are in an expensive part of the world. I know they say they got a good price for their last home, but that will have been overtaken by renting and moving around.

Based on the high cost & speed of purchasing a property in France, I would give it a miss myself. Beautiful place but too expensive in that part of France. It's difficult because there is so much competition.. 😕 French bureaucracy is a pain.

I live in the same area, everything is very expensive compared to any other part of the world -justified or not is for us to decide! But what is universally true is the backwards way of the French (I am French by the way!).: very limited use of the internet and all modern ways of working (modern as in use for the past 20 years in other countries). There are probably a lot of properties meeting your requirements but you would have to go in person to every single estate agent to get viewings…

OMG!! So happy you both didn't like that property; I was saying to myself "no" please don't buy that. LoL I use to stay in a 3 bedroom apartment in Antibe; that only had 4 apartments in the building one side looking at the mountains and the other side looking at the sea. It was gorgeous. But, I only stayed there for about 3 months every year. We owned our apartment in Lyon in Place Bellecour, Lyon France; that had been in my partners family since is great grandparents. The place in Antibe was are friend's that had another house in Ile De Re during the summer so I stayed the for free. I think that if I had to go through all THAT; I would have to be highly medicated! LOL I will keep you in my thoughts as usual. I am happy that you are in a nice place now. As Ryan said " sometime there will come a prefect property come up. I personally happy that you're not in that small caravan.. Love you both! ❤

Busy time for you both searching for your own ‘Chateau De L’Horizon’. Just think that Maxine Elliott the famous actress bought a seaside plot of land there on the Riviera in the 1930s which was cheap cos it was rocky not sandy beach. Maybe consider a tiny old seaside apartment in a nearby village to Cannes or your children’s schools & then keep looking around for your rural project. You can always rent out the apartment at a later date which will bring in good income for you. ❤️Very tiring & frustrating hunting for houses. I looked in France & all over Italy & settled in a different area to where I expected to be in 🇮🇹😂. Your children will need to be near ‘friends & activities’ as they get older or you will spend hours driving & being their taxi driver which isn’t necessarily a negative as it means you keep an eye on things too. At 18 they will be off to uni - the time flies😊. Thx for letting us share your French journey. 🥰☀️
@georgejobe96111 ай бұрын
Can’t see either children going to uni. Seth will join his father’s building company, and the little girl is so into make up and skincare products she will become an influencer!

Hello the two of you, good update if anyone wants to move to the SoF. We bought eight years ago, and it sounds as though it is a little tougher now. On reflection - why did you have to move from your previous lovely house? You had a lot of work planned to do, but why the sudden decision to move , airB&B ing, and then and now renting?? I am assuming that you owned your previous house, and were not renting.. Does it worry you that you dont own a property? As prices are going up - they are in our area near St Maxime, you could make a loss financially. It will be interesting to follow this year, and next time I am in Cannes - I will reach out. - I promise

As we can tell, Ryan is in that real estate business (a contractor). So I think someone offered a lot for their pink house… enough money that they couldn’t refuse. 🌸

Do you have a ‘list’ written down on the things you really see in your minds eye what you both want? You start off checking the things you like in your discoveries? I’m sure you’ll find it. It’s just not shown up for you. Maybe this Spring? Praying it’ll show up soon for you. 🙏

Does anyone know wyt they sold their beautiful villa?
@georgejobe96111 ай бұрын
Not really, they say they got an offer they couldn’t refuse, but I think it was a rash decision, as property prices are going up, and they will have lost money by renting.
@BeadALA11 ай бұрын
@@georgejobe961 But to get an offer they obviously put it on the market. They also put a lot of work/money into that property and were only there for a couple of years iirc. Unless Ryan, being in the building trade, saw it as an investment/flipper? And yes, I agree, ref house prices on the up + rentals for over a year = Not such astute economical decisions.
