This was incredibly satisfying. Coming from North America where most people have ugly, plain, geometric square plots of grass in their front and backyards - I find the organic, higgledy piggledy, rambunctuous English garden so soothing, and pleasing and inspiring.

England is a small country and under attack from that horrid monster change, motorways airports etc, but it is as you imply really a jungle of plants and growth, when the romans arrived they could barely make progress because of it, it’s really a kind of temperate rain Forrest. And since not very cold, or hot rare in that ypu have to look hard for my foreign plants they will not grow here. It is extraordinarily but sometimes overlooked in this regard, I suggest you visit right at the end of may or early June,especially to see the roses.

My heart soared when I saw the gorgeous stand of hollyhocks, a plant that alas, I simply don't have much luck with: far too much hideous, rusty foliage, sadly. I love this style so very much, and it is one that I have in my own (smaller) garden.

I absolutely love these and THE MUSIC IS WONDERFUL! In fact, it's perfect. It sets the mood and ... has me dreaming. House and Garden, you do these SO WELL!! Thank You for your expertise. They are the perfect antidote to the news (which destroys all the joy in the world). Please never stop making these! Seriously, they lift the spirits and are much needed in these unstable times. You've no idea just how important they are.
