I am getting started with Service Titan today, our old system was real antiquated {Goldmine} I am just hoping it is not too much of a chore to learn well, but I guess it is just like everything else , the more you use it , the more you learn

I have used service titan twice in my hvac business and both times it was an absolute nightmare! I ended up switching back to Housecall Pro TWICE! Would never recommend ST unless you enjoy pain and frustration.

I was paying over $4K/month with 4 techs. I had phones pro too but that's bc basic ST doesn't include all the features they sell you on in the demo. There is a ton of stuff that is an upsell. Most of those features are in the basic hcp (automated review requests). Also, hcp is always building out their feature set. I've used them for 4 years and they have added a lot of features that used to be missing.

I have a distaste for Service Titan too. Many company owners around me and vendors say it sucks or is too overly complicated to use. Only the 5+ million $$$ companies use it if they haven't built there own in house software. Defiantly not for the small to mid sized business.

Yeah the transition is a nightmare. Im happy i negotiated the price to be lower since were a smaller company with smaller revenues than HVAC. Their support on some departments suck.

I got my electrical contractor license 2 months ago. I already have my general license but I plan to make the transition to electrical by the end of this year. I did a demo with HCP yesterday and was told they don't have any inventory system... I would think no inventory would be a deal breaker for anyone that isn't a one man shop. We need to know current inventory of parts at our shop, on each van, etc. What are you doing for inventory control, parts reorders, etc?

You made a mistake... ST is expensive and hard to manage. They did a good job selling it, but horrible job implementing it for a small shop... it probably would be great for shops that have a full accounting staff, but it is overkill for anyone doing under 10million/yr.

@pjackson8322 we didn't like the complicated processes required for processing simple daily tasks. It might work well with a larger shop

We looked at HCP and the dispatch function just was not robust enough to dispatch 125 trucks a day with upwards of 500 jobs every day.
