I like the way Mike presents his point of view on controversial passages. Persuasive without being absolute or dogmatic. Very skilled, and loving too. (Get well Mike!)

I’m sitting here a year on from my last comment. I’m using Dr Heisers material for my theology dissertation and I’ve just found out he had cancer. I’m probably being selfish but I can’t imagine not having new teachings from this dude. My prayers are with him and family.

I wish Mike had lived long enough to go through the New Testament. He is truly a gifted teacher. The Bible says, study to show yourself approved. Mr. Heiser certainly did that. He connected the dots and made scripture to understand.

"...a lot of times, the way to love your wife is to NOT get your way..." (5:06:00 ish) If I've heard this said at any other time in life it has just bounced off of my forehead! Somehow it helps to boil down to the heart of a very current and pertinent matter in our marriage, a contextually succinct, Christ centered way of saying, "happy wife, happy life" as it allows for what follows, mutual submission, perhaps recognition on her part that maybe, just maybe the Lord is actually at work in her husband thereby allowing her to reciprocate, which has kinda been the story of our lives, until recently. Timing... Thank you Lord, for letting me hear this today, just when I needed to hear it the most!! Oh, and thank you Dr. Heiser and Trey for Naked Bible Podcast!

again to truly be born again and the list we were given therefore we must sin no more . the only way is for Christ to pour his Spirit on you God changes us we can not change on our own will. God can not dwell fully in you if you continue in sin . Pray for metamorphosis .

Baptism and circumcision has several meanings it doesn't always have to be an absolute of side or another i take numerous sides depending how mature the Christian is. at the end of the day . the conversion is believing That Christ Rose from the dead and defeated death ,and should be done publicly . if look at John the Baptist it was done in public . Remember Christ had a Baptism as well . Also depending on your level and growth your Baptism and circumcision is the Holy Spirit which you are a changed person and walk in the spirit instead of the flesh a change of heart Spirit minded . you become apart of the many member body and also it's a personal part of life . it does not have anything to do with repentance when you are a babe . remember Paul teaches on different levels there is milk and meat depending on your level . being born or baptised of the spirit at a higher level means you live without sin and changed forever by God. you can be baptised at different levels in your walk . but i do think everyone should be baptised as respect toward God if John performed it to Christ then we all should as well .

I don’t believe any Christian reaches a stage of no sin on this side of death .
