I remember watching this episode when it first premiered, I got such deep chills when the lipstick was revealed to be a bottle of Vicodin and House realized he was still hallucinating. The fear in his eyes was actually heartbreaking, we had never seen him so weak and broken up until this point. Hugh Laurie absolutely killed it

@@thaprablem I'm going to assume John Doe's post what in jest, but yours I can't. You get addicted to opioids. Not oxycodone. Not hydrocodone. Opioids. Oxycodone is an opioid. Hydrocodone is an opioid. Vicodin is just a brand of hydrocodone. They're all pretty much the same thing. It's the equivalent of an alcoholic who usually drinks vodka switching to whiskey. It doesn't mean you've kicked the habit nor stepped it up a notch. You've just changed the flavor slightly.

@@chitlitlah oxycodone is significantly stronger than hydrocodone, which is why I said it was more wild-it was a small detail I hadn’t caught, but still significant because it conveys how much more in pain House was with losing both Kutner and 13. I understand it’s general opioid addiction and wasn’t disparaging the fact that Vicodin use still falls under opioid addiction, but I appreciate your clarification.

Wilson is the best friend/foil/judge/enabler/conscience. Genius writing acted by an excellent actor just makes the interactions and conversations between them so meaningful. Wilson isn't perfect either or he wouldnt be divorced and having trouble with his own relationships... which makes House's fixation on breasts and butts more amusing than offensive. Its his way of complimenting a woman, even though it's "look, but don't touch".

no, most of this episode actually happens. his case & his team, his interactions with wilson and cuddy in the finale are all real. house detoxing and sleeping with cuddy the episode before WAS a hallucination, and he hallucinated the lipstick in his pocket, but everything else that happens this episode is real (though people speculate whether or not wilson telling house to terrorize cuddy was a hallucination because it's out of character for him)

As much as I love this show from the deep bottom of my heart, the story did truly peaked and waned poorly as soon as Trudy and House became a couple. Resolving at last the long-brewing s*xual tension between the binome had for consequence to make House somehow... _civilized_ . But there certainly must have a reason why Irene Adler get written off and d%ed in the Sherlock Holmes novels, and much ironically allowing to an American Holmes such as House from finding a semblant of solace with his own Irene Adler make him less captivating as this antiheroic, Byronian, world-weary anticonformist genius.
