And I love the scene in that film where Dr Sun Yat Sen is telling the Western delegates at the lunch party that the pieces of food represent their feasting on China and saying, "Enjoy your meal Gentlemen, for this will be the last time you will be able to feast on China."

Wow... House of History, your content is just truly amazing! So well made, so entertaining and informative. I never knew much about this and so I learnt how the Qing empire died. Maybe a follow up video could be on how Mongolia broke away from China? That would be fascinating.

@@HoH Honestly, I think this was your most well made video! The music fit SO well! Keep up the good work! And yes please do , do a video on how Mongolia gained independence. Mongol history is severely unrepresented among KZbinrs and Historians. It's always Genghis Khan and sometimes his sons but never Modern Mongol history.

@@luxembourgishempire2826as you might know, even today, China is a multiethnic state; in 1912, upon the abolition of the monarchy/Qing Dynasty, both, Mongolia, and Tibet began to separate themselves of what had been the Chinese/Qing Empire. Both, Russia, and the United Kingdom had long coveted Mongolia (Russia), and Tibet (the United Kingdom) as parts of China unde their (Russia's, and the United Kingdom's) spheres of influence; and, so, in 1913, Yuan Shikai, officially, let go of Mongolia, and Tibet, which , independently, entered under the influence of Russia, and the United Kingdom.

Great video!! There was so much going on in China during this period in thier history with so many players in it. You did a good job in trying to capture all of the big amd small people involved in this small segment of China's history in this video..somethimg difficult to do and not bore the viewer in the process. Keep up the great work and look foreward to your next video Oscar. 👍😀

"small segment of China's history"? The Xinhai Revolution (1911-1912) was one of the most consequential/pivotal events in the History of China, as it marked not only the end of the 268 years of reign of the Qing Dynasty (in China), but the end of ~2200 years of Imperial China!

No, the Communists were right. The Chinese bourgeoisie was unable to achieve their republican revolution. Decades after Sun Yat-Sen's death, China was still ruled by barbaric warlord-landlords and a fascist junta based in Nanking. Chiang Kai-shek executed and beheaded everyone within his party who was loyal to the Republican cause and sympathetic to the working class uprising led by the Communists. He also massacred ordinary people in order to grab the illegitimate power as the military dictator of China. He cracked down on the popular revolution which he cynically exploited, and led China into an era of imperialist invasions, mostly from Japan, which profoundly changed the landscape of Chinese politics. That was when people had had enough and supported the Communist side by landslide.

Hallo Oscar. I enjoy your videos very much, especially the video about Stalin's Great Purge. Regarding the Fall of the Qing Dynasty, one woman was responsible for that, namely the Empress Dowager Cxi Cxi. She murdered at least two Emperors, one of whom introduced many reforms in the 1880s which would have turned China into a constitutional monarchy with an elected parliament.

@Common Sense Revolution Clarification: Slang is not taught in school and the false dichotomy of "Dems" and Republicans is what's destroying America, not "optimum language" or whatever the fuck you were trying to talk about in your grammatically confused paragraph. Not sure what your sources are or why you thought it was worth it to even try to spew your bullshit but I would suggest getting some common sense of your own before trying to start a revolution for it. Or would it be against it? If the latter, this'd make much more sense.
