Regarding Bali…I would wait until they are older and the world and this virus calms down. The handlers can do some mean and degrading things to the elephants. That’s why there are sanctuaries now where they are treated with respect. Could you take them to a zoo first and see how they react to the monkeys? Just a thought. I just researched taking small child to Bali. Apparently, they have to get many shots before they go. Also, the mosquitoes are bad, diarrhea, parasitic infections, and concerns of food handling. These comments were from trip advisor. I have to agree with Hunter on this one.

Not a mom, but I have a brother who, at 2, walked into the bathroom and ate poop from between another of my brother's legs as he was sitting on the toilet! My mom was so mortified that she brought him to the ER and refused to leave until they prescribed antibiotics (that weren't actually necessary according to them) 😂😂😂 Also, I will take my chances about Bali negatives. The monkeys being fed by humans causes trouble for both monkeys and humans alike. Because they live in the city, they are exposed to dangerous power lines, dogs, cars, etc., and humans are often attacked and tormented by monkeys viewing food offerings as a sign of inferiority on the human's part because in their eyes the most dominant members of their troop are given food by their subordinates. The elephants in captivity are usually kept alone and thus miss out on valuable social relationships that they would get in the wild. This causes the animal immense amounts of stress. In addition, the people holding the animals captive are often extremely abusive towards the animal. They don't feed them very much or often and will beat them in order to control them.

@Tristan Barnes when I was very young my mom took me to the circus. I didn't want to go. When we got there she was so excited and said you've got a ride the elephant. I didn't want to do it. The elephant that I sat upon was sick. Just a few strides and I already felt her pain within her body. I started to softly cry and the gentleman that was walking me and her asked me if I was okay and I said, I'm all right but is the elephant okay. I laid down and touched her and I said she's not feeling well. She's extremely sad and broken hearted. And she just doesn't feel well. I said is she hot or is it me. Whenever we got done with a ride he stopped in front of my mom and called her down. She actually was sick. Just a few days beforehand I guess what you would consider their sister, she died. She was heartbroken. And either had what she had, or they just died of heartbreak. They found them in captivity and brought them over. I couldn't imagine being taken from your family. Heck even the sadder part that actually happens to people. Days later there was an article and she had passed. I was so sad. My mother promised me she would never bring me to another circus. And then I met my husband. And as a surprise he brought me to a circus. I actually caught one of the trainers being mean to the elephant. And I said to him you better be careful, karma can get you back. I'm not joking. That elephant actually harmed him. And what's really cool is the town that we moved from. Just a few towns up they built an elephant sanctuary. They didn't do anything to the elephant that harmed the man. Because he was actually very abusive to the elephant. Everyone knew. And yet again, I had to open up about that precious elephant that was really sick and that I am gifted with animals. And that I don't ever want to go to a circus again. Thank you but no. If they have no animals okay. If they do forget it.

On that last flight I went on with my 3 year old and 1 year old - my one year old daughter decided she was terrified of this literal girls laugh and EVERY SINGLE TIME the little girl laughed my daughter SCREAMED and cried of absolute terror - I have no idea why but it was such a nightmare the whole flight I was so embarrassed and all I wanted was to get off the plane and that was a SHORT flight. That is just one of the many traveling with toddler / babies stories I could tell you

For someone who worries about kids getting sick, Bali is not the place to go. Being in such close proximity to a couple of hundred people for 24 hours in an aeroplane which has canned air anyway will be a nightmare scenario as your kiddies have not been building their immunity as you have them isolating at home. Germs are good as it helps children develop their immune systems. Bali itself is beautiful, and opportunities are available but getting there is a risky enterprise.

My husband is also in pest and weed control in Washington state. He just started back Mar 1st and works till Oct or Nov. I also have a son with a disability and a daughter. I totally understand how you feel like a single parent when Hunter is at work. My kids are older and in school but it still is a challenge when I am doing all the after school stuff alone. My son and daughter have a unique bond as brother and sister. She is his biggest advocate and his best friend. Having a brother with a disability has taught her patience, kindness, and love for all people. She can also be quite fierce when someone is bulling him. Thanks for letting me get to know your family. It helps me knowing there is someone else going through the same struggles of life that I go through.

Poor Hunter! That is so nasty! I had three kids and none of them ever did that. My oldest threw up on me a lot because of her medical issues. I always went to them the minute they woke up. Thank goodness for monitors! Left to their own thoughts first thing in the morning is dangerous for mommy. It takes little ones no time get into that situation.

I will never forget my 18 month old taking off her diaper and used her poop to finger paint on the wall behind her crib. When I walked in I died. She gave me the biggest smile. So proud of herself. Do you know how hard it is to tell her she has to keep her diaper on with a smile back.? My husband after cleaning it with disinfectant and soap and bleach., separate ly of course..had to repaint the wall. So glad she didn't fling it. Lolololol. She's 38 now!!!!!

He was a solid no and I could only imagine how fun it’d be:) one day one day. As someone who has had to take their 2 children under 4 on planes MANY times - that is the absolute LASSSSSSST thing you want to do - I am legit TRAUMATIZED from some of the plane trips I have had with my kids and that is with only 3 hour flights - that sounds like an absolute NIGHTMARE. Also Cincinnati has amazing zoos and I have taken my kids there and they don’t even remember and while we were there did nothing but fall asleep. Also you are subjecting them to possible diseases you can contract in other countries which is okay to risk for the experience once older but not now especially with how damn far it is. I’m sorry but absolutely not lol helllllllll no for the flight alone

I’m from Perth, Australia. Bali was like our second home before Covid it was closer and cheaper to travel to Bali then within Australia and I would of said YES ITS INCREDIBLE!!! But….I don’t think I’ll be going to Bali again for a looooong time! It is not what it was pre-covid sadly 😞. BALI is not a place I’d be taking kids post pandemic. The photos look incredible but the reality behind the photos is not always what it actually is. I’m sure you know all this, not trying to be rude or negative ☺️

Oh sweet ashley, u have no idea. Parenting is the most rewarding stressful job u will ever have. Also u will see and touch things u never knew were even a thing. Lol. Just be safe and do not become a parent until u know u r ready to. I had my first at 21. Shes now 16 and I couldnt be more proud of her and I wouldnt change a thing. I do wish I would have waited longer though. It was much easier when I had my 6 year old at 31.

We were on a 3 hour drive. About half way through the trip we smelled "something." We stopped and my 1 year old had had diarrhea. It was up his back, down his legs, and all over the car seat. Can only do so much in the car, so we did the best we could until we arrived at our destination. It was awful

Yesterday, my 3 year old peed in the sink of his play kitchen and pooped in the oven.... Pee all over the stuffed animals, blankets, pillows, even the fire truck. I washed everything, mopped the whole room, cleaned the walls and the window. My son had a baby potty in his room the entire time. Now we took the kitchen out and hosed it down and now it can only be played with in the living room. On the bright side, today, there were 9 pees in the baby potty and he pooped in it for the first time. Because I am a wheelchair bound mommy with cerebral palsy, that mess was insane for me to clean up. LoL 🤣 #teamrachel

When my son was younger, I walked up the stairs,to his room. I could smell the poop hit me in the face, but NOTHING prepared me for what I saw. My son was covered in poop and he decided to paint his crib and the wall… with poop 😝 That day, I cried lol

Hi Rachel, I can't imagine what you walked into. I've heard many horror stories I know what you walked in on. I guess I was lucky with my kids never had any poop problems. I have had a couple of girlfriends tell me that children got into the kitchen and the refrigerator I got the flower for sugar and eggs forgot the bowl and were going to make a cake on the kitchen floor. Now this trip to Bali maybe wait until Blakely is 3 before you go. She may have a lot more fun then. Beckham have fun no matter what age he is when he goes. Hunter you're still an awesome dad and amazing. Taking your children to Bali would be absolutely great for them. I Love your littld family!!
