As someone who has had their fair share of overseas living... (80 countries and counting) over a 25-year period, your video brought back many memories for me as a foreigner, living in a foreign land. I'm home now and very settled. I literally unpacked my boxes for the last time 2 years ago 😎and living in one place is definitely still a novel idea! My home country was a foreign land to me. But living in cosmopolitan London is akin to living overseas anyway. I'm definitely still enjoying getting to know the country of my birth again 🙏 but just a little piece of me resides everywhere that I have resided and I like to think it will always be that way

Hi, I am your subscriber (from Poland) but I saw this video 2 months ago. I watch your program because I work as an interior designer. But not about that .... After this episode, I felt something amazing. I invited my husband to watch (I should add that we have been thinking about life changes for a while. We would like to live somewhere ....). Since the pandemic, my husband has a 100% remote work so dreams of moving are possible but we have plenty of excuses: we have a dog, and a cat, we've only been living in a new house for a year, my job, etc. And boom, your video:) Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this episode! We stopped having excuses! We stopped being afraid. We are in our 40s, what are we waiting for? You guys traveled with children (school, kindergarten, sitter), and for us, it seems to be a challenge to move with a dog and a cat? Long story short: after your video, we booked a plane ticket to Italy. We went to Puglia, watched real estate.... we act! We are already checking tax issues and housing issues.... We begin to implement our plan, without fear, without excuses. At the earliest in May, at the latest in December 2023 we will live in the south of Italy. Then Morocco.... If you sometimes wonder why to open family, private topics on KZbin - this is why:) Thank you. Patrycja

The former elderly owner (90’s) of our Florida cottage bought a mobile home for his grandson (60’s) so he could care for him and the acreage. We may put a barn there one day, but right now it is an Airbnb. The income (meager due to covid) is to help us renovate here. The best thing is all the people we meet from so many places! I had never been out of the USA except for holidays in the Caribbean until I went to Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic in the 1990’s. The trip made me curious about the other parts of the world. However, I fell in love with Paris my first trip there. I’ve been back a couple of times and my trip in December was canceled due to the pandemic. Hoping to travel again soon after a vaccine.

I am so emotional watching and hearing your beautiful backstory ! I've been dreaming to go travel to Morocco for YEARS now , and you both keep pushing me closer to go!! I also am so inspired by you Valentina. I've always been drawn to interior design, and at first it was just a hobby I enjoyed doing, putting my space together, creating something out of nothing. I think quarantine has got a lot of people reflecting on their careers, aspirations, or life as a whole. After working as a RN for a few years now, and although I do enjoy it, and it is so humbling caring for people in their most vulnerable state; I am not passionate about it. I think it's so important to find things you are passionate about, and love waking up to do every day. Anyway, I discovered your channel a few months back when Quarantine started back in March, and I look forward to your videos every week. Thank you for sharing your love for design and travel with the world !!

They allowed me to go to France at 15 and live with a family over the summer as an exchange program. Can you tell my dad was a teacher and my mom a geography buff? By now, I can be ready to fly in one hour, and that includes the shower, if a car is coming for me. 😉 I am from New England and married an Aussie. Plenty of travel left for us! Yes, yes, yes, to all the video possibilities you mentioned! Y’all’s story is something I would like to hear more of. What a life y’all have lived, and the experiences and memories you have given your children! My husband is 10 years older than me, we met and married within a 3 month span ( I was 20, he 30). We had our first child one year later. My oldest (we have 3) asked me one time why I couldn’t be more fun like Dad, why I didn’t dance around and play with them the way he did. When Jack said he was just young at heart, it reminded me so much of my husband, that spirit, that fun side, so I guess that’s one of many reasons the 10 years between us never mattered! Oh, my answer to my daughter? When we had kids, one of us had to become an adult!

How did you get into marketing, real estate, and design? I'm always interested to learn the logistics, people's processes while they're working toward achieving their goals and dreams, especially if you are parents having to support a family as you're doing it (I have not figured out how to make major geographic or career changes while maintaining uninterrupted income as a single parent). Worked in France and Belgium, got married at 22, my husband is 9 years my senior, moved to England, moved to NJ, had our kids there, moved to Germany (our kids don’t feel German, they feel American) and right now we’re planning a move to Florida. Hoping to touch down in September. My husband and I have been renovating homes since we got married. Love your channel, you crack me up. 😘

I love your story Valentina! Very inspiring. Especially the part of taking your kids. My husband is Egyptian and I lived there for a while. But we felt it would be easier to travel if he got his us passport so we’ve been in Ohio for 6 years, where my parents live. I am a nurse an I have always wanted to do that but I have been worried bc of not knowing what kind of work I would find or my husband that would make enough money to do all that. We also love Denmark, and want to visit. My sister in law in from Morocco and her and my husbands brother live in Antwerp. I feel better about having kids and traveling after seeing you do it 💕

I hear ya guys. I haven't lived all over the world but as a traveling Operating Room Nurse for 32 years - now retired - I moved 13 times in 29 years. The first time was fun but after that, not at all. My favorite place to live, without question, was Stonington, Maine.

Your video on this topic has come to me at the perfect time at age 49. I too have dreams of living out of the US but could never figure out how to make it happen. I once again find myself at the crossroads and find your story inspiring

Thoroughly enjoyed this video, I'm always so fascinated when I hear stories like this, wish I had been so daring in my youth to travel and live in other countries. I could listen to your experiences for hours, thanks for sharing.

I don’t know how it took me so long to come across this video but , wow, what an impactful glimpse of the depth of your character. You are far more than the cosmetics of life. Thank you for sharing such an intimate view of who you are. I thought a lot of you before and now so much more.

A & J, listening to your experiences brought back so many wonderful memories for me and my husband. We lived in London for eight years, which afforded us the opportunity to travel all over the world. Morocco is one of our fav places. Talk about waking up the senses! And, the food! We spent three weeks in Zambia and Capetown and loved the people, the wine country, and the animals! Norway we loved and have always wanted to return - some of the most beautiful scenery in the world. A little bit in Sweden and Denmark but not much, unfortunately. Not to mention France (Provence our fav area) and Italy (Tuscany). Greece - Santorini! We’ve been to China a couple of times, Japan, Singapore several times and Australia a couple of times. My first passion is travel and hope to continue until I can’t breathe anymore. We live in Arizona now, which will be our forever home, but as soon as this virus is behind us off we go! We are scheduled to do a cruise next May, crossing fingers, through the British Isles ending up in Iceland. We hope to do the Holy Land some time in the future. We were to go last March but the virus cancelled everything. I can’t wait to see you where you go next or what your next plans are! Once your last two kids go away to college the sky will be the limit. Once our three kids left home and the dog died (😟) we were free to do our thing. Your spirit and love for each other will carry you far! Mandy from Tucson ❤️🌵

You lived amazing adventures because of who you are and how you choose to look at the world and each other. It makes me genuinely happy to look at people like you. I found you channel because we just bought our first home (also, incidentally, in a country we're both not from) and are renovating and decorating it ourselves... but I am staying for you guys :) Like your kids, both me and my husband grew up in multiple countries (and we both have parents who are from different cultures as well) and it is a great privilege to immerse yourself in another culture and language as a child. The only drawback is getting our families together from all over the world for any kind of celebration :)
