You couldn't choose more suitable time for this kind of video. I'm just (almost) done renovating my room (walls so far) and I also wanna replace some pieces of furniture. I'm planning to have a few plants (ain't gonna lie, I think you were the one to inspire me to consider them) and since I didn't really use to have plants at home, I might need some tips. PS. I think my favorite plant for home would be fern 😅 (that's how my online translator translated it to English).

I used to work at a plant shop, and when the roots were bunched up at the edge of the soil, we cut their roots before we planted them in a bigger pot with new soil. Sometimes the roots bind themselves and struggle to get their nutrition, causing them to die. The plants love it, it's like a hair cut for them!

Pick Up Limes I just discovered your beautiful channel. Although I have a question which seems contrary to the comment: Are you trying to keep these videos under 10mins for some reason? If so, why? Oddly, I find them sort of weirdly rushed while being simultaneously relaxing. You have such a gorgeous professional production and camera presence I'm not sure why you are speaking so fast with so many rapid visual edits. It feels like you are rushing to get the video over with and leaves a slight sense of anxiety that I've got to keep up or go back to see what you've just said and done. If you slowed everything down a touch then viewers would be able to really drink the images in and absorb your commentary. In other words more of you would not be a bad thing and no shade meant, you seem to look for feedback so that's just my experience. Btw, my mom's a dietician she would love what you are doing :)

It is a lot of hard work guys. I have several plants at home. Any living being dependent on you, be it your pets or plants, require the exact same attitude from their owners. Can't agree with you more..one of my green-fingered friend always says it's important to talk to plants to establish connection, the same way we would do to our baby
@phoebeel4 жыл бұрын
@@PushkalaMuralidharan well I think that talking itself doesn't do anything. It's just a false correlation, statistically speaking. People who talk to their plants are those type of people who live plants and take care of them. That's why their plants thrive! Not because they're talked to. But I guess in times of Corona we all need someone to talk to at home, so enjoy your little convos ❤️
@chaoticzen3 жыл бұрын
@@PushkalaMuralidharan studies have found that it's actually the CO2 from our breath that helps the plants thrive so i like to talk to mine and blow them lots of kisses. it's a beautifully symbiotic relationship.
@SinaAla3 жыл бұрын
@@chaoticzen I thought studies have also shown that talking ‘down’ to plants negatively affects their growth and saying sweet things to them helps? The CO2 explanation is a good one, but it’s possibly not the whole story? I don’t know honestly 🤷🏾♀️

FIRST COMMENT! Love your videos ❤ When I get new house plants and decide to repot them immediately, I often take the plant out of its original pot, loosen it to untangle the roots. Works great! I read somewhere that it stimulates root growth. In addition, before I put it into its new pot, I usually put coffee filter at the bottom so soil will not seep out into the holes! 😄

A tip: if you buy a new plant, don’t buy a bigger pot to replant, buy another pot of the same size, divide the plant and either nurse them both or use one as a gift 😊 Also I use sometimes Marmelade jars as pots. They don’t have holes, but you see how wet they are and I use coconut soil. It retains water and I don’t need to water the plants as often.

I mean separating a plant into a two is quite a daunting prospect for someone who's not familiar with the process

@@micabryant4513and what’s worse: if you don’t succeed, the plant will shoot your cat as revenge. Actually there is just SO MUCH that can go wrong so it should be illegal to try. 😁

Extremely helpful video. I have been rewatching this video, including when I first purchased my plants several months ago and last night when I noticed that they were dying.

I absolutely love how many plants you have in your studio!! 😍 I have a house full of plants to not go insane during the dark and cold winter months. I HAD FREAKING FROST IN MY HAIR this morning after walking to school with my daughter... ⛄ After that it is a life saver to sit among my plants (and watch the fish in the aquarium situated in the jungle) enjoying a cup of jasmine tea with my back turned to the cold outside world. 💚🌱☕

@@legaleagle8425 I have my Lemon Tree in my house downstairs in a warm room because it is still wintertime the cold air isn't good for it. So I have to wait for summertime to place it outdoors on the deck. ☺🌱🍋 my tree already has one Lemon growing on it! I just need to water it to keep the tree happy.

I live in the Highlands of Scotland have always loved plants. Lately iv saved plants from Tesco mostly Orchids & am very proud to say they are all doing well, at the moment they are getting ready for the rest period over winter. Only a week ago I saved a plant that was nearly dead, cost me 50p. Got it home gave TLC & its growing new shoots.. I would just like to add, some plants do better if watered from below & I test if they need water by poking a long wooden chop stick down into the compost & seeing how dry / wet it is. :)

thank you for the free pdf! And my favorite plants right now are two; english ivy and this beautifull begonia type of plant - i am just starting and i got so surprised how good they look in my room! and the air in my room is so much better! I dont wake up with a soar throat or the feeling of dryiness. It is like they balance out things and after only two days my mood has improved and also my focus!

@@shinaeyoo2008 your username totally grabbed my attention lol. I'm just starting to get into plant stuff since I've been discouraged for years about the plants I let die when I was young and now I feel like I'm responsible enough to be able to care for them so I got one pothos that my mom propagated into my room which has been well for a few months so I want to propagate more myself and I'll hopefully be able to develop that lifestyle this year! (if anyone has tips on keeping cats from eating indoor plants, please help)

Thank you, I have learned something today!😊 I didn't know that plans have preference with water Temperature, and didn't like to to be moved from one place to the other. I love your positive attitude to life and nature. And I adore that joy that you radiate. It comes from within, that is the real happiness 😀

I got a plant from my mom on my graduation day and I accidentally neglected it for two weeks😭 I feel so sorry for it so I’m here trying to learn about plants so I could atleast save its life
@deliaklager7663 жыл бұрын
Just don't over-water it! A lot of plants thrive better under neglect than under over-doing it. Water it, until the soil is all moist again (maybe write down, how much water that took so you know for the next time), if it summer where you are, maybe add fertilizer, then wait a few days to see how the plant reacts before you do anything else. I used to kill my plants because i would first neglect them and then flood them when i realized. I think plants like consistency.
