I didn’t really connect with syngonium for a long while, but now I am sooo in love with the Albo 😍 definitely been looking for one, you have a truly beautiful specimen so hopefully I can find one similar this summer I have a bunch of begonia, absolutely my favorite genus, and most of mine were grown or re-rooted from a single leaf or stem. I find that propagating them in my greenhouse “cabinet” (fishtank 😅) works best to get them going quickly. Once they’ve grow out to the top of the tank, I cut them down to re root and fill out the pot, rinse and repeat until they’re too big to live in there Since then they’ve all acclimated really well to just being out in the home, no added humidifier this time of year, and under grow lights near an East 🧭 window. All of mine but one has flowered so far, but tbh I’m not quite sure what it is I’m doing that encourages it - maybe they just do when they feel like it, i have no idea. The blooms are precious though, I’m sure your Sinbad will treat you to some 🌸 soon 😊

Do you know if Syngonium albos produce white leafs based on genetics? Or is it based on its environment? I live in Texas and it gets west facing sun but it’s a little bit dappled and my leaves come out completely green 50% of the time. Only recently I’ve gotten an 1/4 white leaf or speckled leaf and I’m not sure how to increase the variegation. I’ve even cut back when it does give me white leaves to help encourage more but I still get white leaves again.

My syng albo leaves are coming out with the white being more cream(similar to yours). Original leaves have pure white variegation. Is this a light thing? Or do they just change as they mature?
@mariahhull26192 жыл бұрын
Hi! I bought a cutting that the seller described as a campo philo. But when I got it I was confused because it wasn’t velvety. It was already in the lobed fish/bunny shape. Do they lose the velvet as they mature? What other philodendron could it be if not??
@wildfern2 жыл бұрын
Yeah they do lose their velvety-ness when they mature I'm pretty sure! So that's probably what it is. How cool that you've got a mature one!

lol whaaat the blinds comment is so weird and specific, it’s crazy what some people assume on the internet 🤣
@kayleecutter80202 жыл бұрын
You’re wise not wanting the mature leaves. They are ugly and revert the whole plant back to a less attractive variety. I spent most of my youth cutting my parent’s podophyllum off of an asbestos fence. Even when you take cuttings and take them out of the full sun they rarely revert back to the pretty form you bought in the first place. There is a Begonia from Costa Rica which I can’t remember it’s name right now but it has huge green leaves that taste like apple.
