I live in Singapore in a place that is flooded with beautiful light……and I’ve made it a mission that my home is going to look like my home in Australia in the 70’s and 80’s. my 3 boys just laugh at me now…..1 plant and maybe some food to eat after every grocery run❤😂😂😂

I only have small houseplants, and I love sticking them in the shower every once in a while to give them a “rain” shower, and clean the leaves :) only works with pots that have holes in the bottom, though.

I got my love of house plants from my Grandma Bornstein! I even have her house plant table! I have many more than what fits on the table but it reminds me of who I got my green thumb from. It's my tribute to Grandma. I have been using a water mixture that has been in a jar with banana peels (peels in the jar with water for a few days). My plants seem to like it. I have plants in every room in my home. It makes me happy when I enter each room!

You are not artificial! You are genuine! That is why you like real plants! I am so happy to see you posted this video. I saw you had a bunch of shorts up and I thought oh no! Not Elliott Homestead, too! Seems like everyone is doing shorts nowadays. I understand the point of doing that but I have enjoyed your channel for so long that I would grieve if you stop making long videos! They are all so beautiful! 🥰

Interesting perspective on real versus artificial flowers and plants. I feel the same but couldn’t really define why until you said it. Nothing makes me sadder than fake plants. I also prefer a real tree at Christmas and real flowers at weddings.

Your houseplants are beautiful and look healthy! That really nice monstera (swiss cheese plant) leaf that you cut off...just stick it in water. It will root. Those large leafed plants look great in a clear vase in water...a leaf or two.

I was bit by the love of house plants about 8 years ago. It started with an inexpensive one from Aldi’s, my first mother in laws tongue. One of my favorite ways to get new plants is to check out the clearance plants at Lowes😊 I just bought a few new plants at the beginning of March and refreshed some other plants. Always feels so good to do this. I believe we’re a little healthier because of all the plants we have😊

But is the silk or plastic plant really cleaner? Maybe while it is in a house, but once it is discarded, it pollutes, big time. I opt for the living plant with its imperfections, its occasional dead leaves, and the hassle of watering and fertilizing. It lives, it 'breathes', adding oxygen to my stagnant, winter indoors. Great video!

Gnats are usually only a problem if your plants are water-logged or being watered too much in general! Pull back a bit on water, cover the top of the soil with permiculite which helps absorb extra moisture, and that should help!
