Man that thing looks sweet! Makes me miss my gen 4 revolution even more. I ground alot of blades on that thing till the stupid house fire ended the poor fellas life 😢. Gotta start saving up for a gen 5 for sure though. Great work Brian!

Nice. It's been on my mind for a while that a 2" belt is too narrow, looks like I'll be upgrading my grinder.

Great design. I love our 3 x 132 Bader Spacesaver but it is anything but a Spacesaver. This is such a great solution for a 3” wide belt grinder. Would be absolutely killer with a 5 h.p. Motor
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
The Bader is what inspired me to build this. I got a chance to use one out in Colorado but it was absolutely enormous. I think the belt was 140 inches in length. So I went to work and designed this to give the beat of both worlds.

Wow. Just blown away at how much easier Gen 5 is to build over Gen 2. Even I can't screw this one up.

Hi! Do you plan to sell Tsunami plans or upgrade kits for 2x72?
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
Right now we are just selling the kits, the machine work needed on the d-plate has to be super precise so making by hand or without a CNC (or mill) is restrictive.

I JUST bought a Revolution about two weeks ago. I had no idea the Tsunami was coming! Any chance I can swap my unused 2x72 components for the 3” stuff? Happy to pay the difference in price and shipping.

If you don’t have either one, how would you choose between the 2x72 and 3x79?
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
Depends on what you would be doing with it. Personally I default to the 3x79 since it can run a 2 inch belt as well so it's the best of both worlds.

@@HouseMadeUS that’s good to know. I wasn’t sure that the mechanism could shorten up for the shorter 2x72 belt. Thanks!

Can I still use 2x,72 belts, and small wheels?
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
Yes it's all reverse compatible, no need to change the wheels, just swap the platen, contact wheel, small wheel etc. 😁🤙🏻

But where can you get 3*79 belts? None of my local suppliers stock them.
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
Yes it's a common belt size, we carry them on our website too. VSM Phoenix Combat Red-Label Amazon All carry them.

Most likely would need to special order. The vast amount of easily available 2x72 belts make it worth it. Coming from a 2x48 grinder I can attest to the difficulties finding certain belts
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
@@TheScrawnyLumberjack No need for a special order, just google 3x79 grinding belts and you will see how many companies make and sell them without a special order. Even can get them on Amazon.

The 3x79 kit says is ships with 220 wiring in red? But doesn't show any wires or motor
@HouseMadeUS
@HouseMadeUS 2 ай бұрын
Ships with the wiring kit. We do not sell Motors or VFDs. Those can be purchased separately from our resources page: housemade.us/pages/2x72-resources
