Shalam, Brother. Naw, you're wrong. I just copped some skates after 25+ years of not having skated. My daughter saw some old Skate Key vids and asked if I went there when I was young. Soon as I said yes, she was looking for spots. Lefrak Center/Prospect Park is dope. Brooklyn Bridge has a nice view but you're forced to wear wrist guards. The best bang for your buck is Branchbrook, in Newark. Longest skate times and it's peaceful. Have met many brothers and sisters. All love. Good fun, mixed with cardio, for the babies.

Ahhhhhh this brings back memories. I started skating at 2. And skated 3-5 days a week. I took figure skating lessons on roller skates. I am 57 and I was disabled by a car accident 20 yrs ago. I could do all of what I see and more. I'd love to see one of these really good spinners try a flying camel spin . Thats on one leg forwards or backwards with one leg at a 90 degree angle going in a tight circle. The only bad thing I can say is there are too many skaters on that rink to have some real fast synchronized jumping and spinning, kicking your feet upward to your head fun . Great video.

hello Malik..You actually peaked my interest in skating in Texas. I went to a Black owned rink in Houston and skated 2 days there.The food and people were incredible and the skating scene is alive and kicking. From there,I visited San Antonio and skated there and in Austin, and had a great time. Hell yeah I will be back, and I need some suggestions which rinks to definitely visit...

Back in the 80’s Houston’s Rainbow Skating Rink and Fondren Great Skate were the places to get your skate on.. Good to see these places still exist in the H-Town. The last one here in San Diego closed down about 2-3 years ago.. Places where people of color can go and enjoy a drama free time are slowly disappearing. Oh yeah, you still can’t top a step show on skates. 🤘🏾
