This guy needs a better band to help him shine like he should. Drummer is about to put me to sleep. Has he not heard the official song recording? Bass player looks confused, and has no passion for the song. And where's that beautiful piano part with the strings behind it?

First off the drummer is the other writer/singer in Hovvdy... He's not just the drummer behind Charlie Martin. So yes, he's obviously heard the original as... he made it. I think the sparse drums are beautiful. Bassist too is responsible for much of the arrangements and all the bass on the record. He also mixed their earlier records, so I think you're mistaking confusion for concentration, he's an awesome musician and lovely human. It's a stripped back session, not a full album reproduction...
