Something that is rarely mentioned. It was sadly a necessary evil for ATNT. They had massive debt and a bunch of things assets were on a fire sale, and they were firing tons of employees and doing everything to save moneu, its prob the biggest reason why US lawmakers didn't stop it in the end. Law makers prob chose to help prevent a large company like ATNT default on its loans and let Sony have the monopoly. I believe at the time like 30-40% of its $160 billion debt was due in 5ish years. In the end they cut losses and spin off the company that put them in massive debt in the first place, which was the Time Warner/Warner Bros merger with Discovery.

Hmm, The God of High School & Tower of God (season 1, I dropped s2 after 2 episodes) were 2/5 of the Crunchyroll Originals I liked enough to watch to the end. The others were Tonikawa, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, and Dr. Ramune Mysterious Disease Specialist. I left CR when we couldn't watch on one-week-delay with adblock for free anymore. Sounds like they got even more crapitalistic/craptastic since then.

Tower of God was amazing IMO. Granted I am Biased as all hell as I've been reading it for a LONG time. I had been reading that Manhwa for a long time when they announced it. I remember when they had the Noblesse OVA drop. I was actively reading all three of those series when they were announced. Noblesse, while maybe not for everyone, was great with the source material and if they just kept going i could see it being a really good anime. Tower of God, stuck to the source material like glue and essentially set the stage for the rest of the story. God of Highschool, while yes the story ramps up from 0-100 in 12 episodes it generally kept the pacing at 100- wait im remembering why i stopped reading it. Nevermind the criticism is valid on that one. But ToG is one of my favorites.
