The biggest irony you forgot to mention. A couple years earlier, when the Chiefs played the Patriots, Brady got the ball first OT and won the SB, and Mahomes never had a chance to touch the ball in OT. Chiefs proposed the same change to the rules committee, but BUFFALO OPPOSED the rule change at that time. When Buffalo was in same same position a couple years later, they cried louder.

1. In 2018 no one cared when the Pats beat the chiefs in OT and Mahomes didn't touch the ball. 2. Fun fact: After a Brady interception down 4 with less than a minute left. A flag on the Chiefs gave the ball ball back to Brady to continue the drive. 3. No one supported the Chiefs petition when they suggest OT rules changes after that game. 4. Fun fact: The Bills were one of the teams that didn't support the Chiefs petition. 5. There was league wide support to change the rules after the 13 seconds game. 6. All this is old and well know. overtime rules should be eliminating field goals altogether, and no time limit, give both teams a shot each to score a Touchdown and finish when a winner is declaired… so if one team gets a TD, the other team loses if they can't convert and respond with a touchdown. if they both score, then keep going till one loses.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I recall that after the tim Tebow lead broncos beat the stealers in the playoffs with a td they changed it to. If you score a FG then the possession goes back to the other team. But if they score a td then it's a automatic Win. The chiefs beat the bills with td in first possession and then they changed the rule to both teams MUST TOUCH THE FOOTBALL IN OT.

Something Something Josh Allen is the next Elway or God tier QB and need to prop his ass up. They needed to change that rules ages ago but only did so when a White QB complained about how unfair it was that he couldn't win with the current rules nvm that it didn't effect elites like Rodgers, Brady, Manning etc. Bills voted for the rule change and proposed it at least their GM did with Titans and Eagles cosigning. In short, it's to make games more exciting but also to prop up mid af QB's to elite status on the off chance they pull a fluke drive so we have a narrative to talk about. They get to prop up Herbert or Goff who are both ass, if they win in OT with new rule sets meanwhile other then Mahomes every African QB gets shitted on if they're defense doesn't show up or team underperforms no matter how good they actually are in the clutch.

@@larry2281 No, casual. Chiefs fans tired of the false narrative that the NFL/refs favor the Chiefs. Gaslighting -- repeating a lie until people believe it's true, then keep repeating it -- is a tactic from Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals." It's what Leftists have done since 1828. Then they post threats that unless the "rigged" NFL intentionally *fixes* games against KC, they will stop watching. Essentially not worried the NFL is "rigged", but demanding it be "rigged" for them. Coercion is another Alinsky/Democrat loser tactic. This turns the Lombardi into a traveling participation trophy that has zero meaning. And we all know how the Democrat loser crybabies love them some participation trophies. Only a Democrat or re(t)ard would fall for it. Chiefs fans just bring the receipts to prove the crayon eaters wrong. Don't act like a Democrat. This is sports.

In the Super Bowl. It didn’t matter that there were new rules. The chiefs held them to a field goal which means they would’ve win either way. Wether in new or old rules

I think it was more so the pressure was less on the defense to stop them from scoring a td that drive bc they knew they had another chance

It shouldn't have taken the Bill-Chiefs outcome to know that the Overtime format was stupid and needed to be changed. And even still a team can win by virtue of having one more possession via a coin flip, but at least it's improved.

The game with Brady and Mahomes didnt have the face that the Allen/Mahomes game did. It was Brady and some upstart young QB. Mahomes wasnt 'MAHOMES' yet. But Allen and Mahomes were the two biggest names at QB when they played this game.

For super bowl 58 even with the old format, chiefs still win because the 49ers only got a field goal on their first possession when they won the toss

The Chiefs would've still had the ball against the Niners under the old rule. Sudden death only applied to touchdowns, not field goals.

I don't like any of the new overtime rules. No one I know in real life likes them either. We want an extra period of fifteen minutes to let the teams play it out, the way it used to be before they started changing the overtime rules in the first place. Imagine if the NBA tried to do overtime by making-sure-each-team-got-a-possession-sudden-death hybrid. It would straight up ruin the game, as I think changing the overtime rules in the first place has done.

Wait I’m confused the chiefs would have received the ball regardless of the new rule because the 49ers just kicked a field goal.

Yeah and the new rule also makes it so KC would touch the ball with a touchdown, instead of just a field goal.

And when the Bills bitch about clear no calls on receiver's being held, the refs don't throw flags (like they did on Kelce), they come give them a pat on the head and a kiss on the cheek.
