Because the Saints lost their perfect season the week before and the NFL was hyping it up the final week it was happening. The NFL desperately wanted 18-0 vs. 18-0. It would’ve been epic but it wasn’t meant to be. Which sucks cuz I was rooting for it too. They still eventually met in the SuperBowl though. Just neither were perfect.

No clue why they chose not to pour extra salt in the Patriots wound, to be the actual first team to go 19-0. None of the rings the pats got afterward would've held a candle to an undefeated colts season.

The light shined on a dog's butt the day the stinky Jets beat the Brady Patriots in a January 2011 playoff game. I blame Welker for that one. Hey everybody BUTT FUMBLE ! 😎

They were afraid to go 16-0 and get bounced in the first playoff game like they did in 2005, 2007, and 2008. Pussies.

Those colts teams were so top heavy. Poorly constructed rosters, and the scheme on both sides of the ball was terrible. Bill polian and Tony Dungey were extremely overrated. Year after year after year they put together weak teams, that weren’t tough enough.

Would have been wild if they went 16-0 just to lose the Super Bowl, just a few years after the Pats did the same thing.

Nah this was a great video. 2010 was different, it was a roller-coaster of emotions kuz some of those games were too close for comfort. The playoffs included. Damn we stayed on the road the whole time. I began hating the steelers more than the Pats. Kuz I remember the song Black and yellow got super popular. The closers towards the end of the video was a nice touch. But honest I think nameth made a deal with the devil or God just hates the Jets. As a fan I never get my hopes up high kuz when it goes wrong all of it falls off the rails.

That GM is a snake. He let's the coach take the fall for his choice and get raked through the coals by the fans and media. He doesn't speak up for a decade, but when he does, he doubles down and says it was the "right decision"..... the right decision that you wouldn't own up to for a decade?? What an utter coward

I remember this time. Rex and Sanchez went to the AFC championship game 2 years in a row. 1 year they ended the Colts perfect 14-0 run with Kurtis Painter. Then the next year they succeeded in stopping Brady, P. Manning, but failed to stop Rothlisberger. They weren’t good after that. Then Tim Tebow came and … it was just bad. Too bad they never made him starter.

If Saban gets Brees, I'm still not sure that he stays at Miami. I can see him and Pete Carroll switching places in 2010, with Saban going to USC, and Carroll (and John Schneider) going to the Miami Dolphins, where they bring the LOB to South Beach (and become the team of the 2010's).

Here’s where I’ll give the Colts some slack. Even if they played their starters the whole game versus the Jets and won I don’t think they play starters in that final game in the snow at buffalo not worth it with those type of conditions

Eh, if the colts lost in the divisional round then I would get the outrage, but they made it too the Super Bowl. The saints started 13-0 and were a really good team too, so it’s not like losing to them in the Super Bowl has anything to do them with sitting there starters 4-5 weeks prior. Kind stupid

If I may interject, something specific in the aftermath of the 2009 season was not mentioned. The Colts GM and HC decision to having the starting players being rested more in the final 2 weeks gave us the current regular season setup of all (formerly Week 17 now) Week 18 games being only divisional matchups. -Opinions are subjective, but I'm someone who still holds a grudge against the NFL to this day for implementing a final week schedule restriction. Now there are certain geographically South NFL teams who won't have to play outdoors up North in Week 18, while any geographically North NFL team can still be subjected to playing somewhere down South outside in Week 1. There's a certain word for that, but I'm not confident it can sqweak past the censors. Also, it takes the fun out of Week 18 knowing your favorite NFL team has only 1 of 6 possible options. Seeing this happen for 15 straight years has gotten stale and-- Homer J. Simpson: "BOR-ING!"

Rex Ryan can thank Bill Polian for his Jets tenure. If they don't tank the final game and a half, the Jets don't make the playoffs in 09 (and maybe not in 2010, either). Also, I don't think that Polian was thinking enough about his QB and how he would be measured against Brady (in the public eye. In my opinion, Brady is a cheater who isn't even the 1,000th best player ever). Manning could have gotten a big one up on Tom, and Polian blew it for him.

1985 Bears with their loss to Miami played it out in week 16 with their starters knowing they had a bye week and that they could not go undefeated. McMahon and Payton basically played the whole game. You play to win the game you’re playing, period.

What if John Lynch as general manager had chosen Sean McVay over Kyle Shanahan? Perhaps the Niners are the heir to the Patriots dynasty instead of the Chiefs? And if only Dan Snyder didn't own Washington the burgundy and gold would have promoted one of their great assistants to head coach? Infinite possibilities.

If Aaron Rodgers is healthy the Jets should make the playoffs. They might even win the division if the Bills keep turning the ball over frequently and the Dolphins can't beat the better teams. The Patriots can be respectable in the near future but need time to get quarterback stability.

My dad was a season ticket holder from 1968 until the PSL hell at Metlife stadium (I joined him in 1999). As nice as it was seeing blowout wins in the playoffs against the Colts and other big games, that season felt different. There was hope that the underdogs might freaking make the Super Bowl for the first time since the 68-69 Season. But DAMN has it been painful since. You can't say Jets fan without "long suffering" in front of it now. I want this to be the year, but I'm gonna be ready to get let down again and hope they prove me wrong. I have to make an edit to add that you've killed it once again with the video quality. Keep it up!
