The most fascinating part of that is that they design and make their own parts for their machines. Absolutely astonishing!

I wonder how much filament is on that giant spool and how much it would cost just to buy it.

I keep hearing that push platic is great but when i run it on my printer it always jams within an hour of printing. Is there some special property of their pla that i need to tak into acount when printing with them. Ps printer prints other brands just fine but ive got constant jams on a both rolls i bought.
@GoldenAura32

That depends on the material, printer, and settings you are running. Without that information it is hard to say the cause.

@@GoldenAura32 its was on a prusa at 220c, i just gave a friend the roll and stuck to quality brands i trust

220 is a little high for their PLA. I print it at 210-215 and very rarely have an issue that wasn’t slicer/user-related.

@@tankkiler308 I was printing at 200 on a Prusa with no issues. I did bump it up to 220 when I was using a 0.8mm nozzle but never had a jamming problem.

Why is filament 1.75mm? is there a technical reason or just something that is. If filament was 1mm & we changed the nozzle to 0.2mm, then maybe we would get better prints. As you live near Push Plastic maybe you could get them to produce a 1 off role of 1mm, change a nozzle for 0.2mm & try it ?.

have you ever used push plastic petg? i have been using matterhackers pro and they are currently out. i am thinking of buying the 10kg reel of push plastic petg - i can't find many reviews of their product and don't want to get stuck with 22 lbs of worthless filament. all the reviews i have seen are good for PP....

btw.. thanks for your behind the scenes video on PP - it was good to see their production facility - my faith in them was increased by your video.

This video is seriously lacking on “how to” information. You basically just showed some pellets then a machine winding it up on a spool. Then you show us a table where you tell us they test plastics after production and finally just point out some machines. You had a good opportunity to provide extremely useful information and spread knowledge which so many are curious about, but you really just wasted that opportunity. This “how it’s made” video is on the level of 3rd graders taking a field trip where they get an extremely rushed tour from a man who just presses buttons all day and has no clue how anything is actually done. I’m not trying to be rude and just insult your attempt but I really hope that you can use the advice below as helpful criticism, as I would love to see you do a more in depth and informative video on this place or the filament making process in general. So here’s what you need for ANY “how stuff is made type videos”. 1) Approach it like any other documentary. Start by informing your viewers on what this place makes filaments and plastics for. What they specialize in and how long they’ve been in this business. This is the introduction. Then us viewers can get a taste of what to look forward to learning about during your tour. 2) Start exploring the production process from the beginning where the company acquires their materials. It doesn’t have to be the specific name of the supplier, but having a hint at where the filament pellets come from would be great. Knowing what types of plastics the production company uses is absolutely relevant and essential to following this video in the first place. Like do they produce PLA, ABS, PETG, etc.... filaments? What kind of quantities do they purchase these plastic pellets in? Are the pellets made from recycled plastic? When standing beside one of their orders of bulk plastic pellets, ask “about how many spools does one of ‘these quantities’ produce?”. 3) When showing the spoils being wound in, mention the length of the filament on one spool. Or the weight. Or how many spools per day they produce. How many pounds of plastic a day they use, etc... They have it measured already. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions. It’s no help to anyone if it only raises more questions and answers none. 4) When showing the area where they test the prints durability and whatnot, ask them to demonstrate how they test an object. This way we can see what they consider a good print but mainly what they consider good filament to be. That would’ve been so very helpful! 5) He was offering to explain the machines you came across but you just were completely passive. If you could approach the machine to show it more closely and perhaps gotten him to show you how it works. If he didn’t have time for that, understandable, but at least get us some information. You need only to look up the machine on Google and tell us one or two things about it. Please try to be more involved. This could’ve been a nice video but it’s lacking so much that I doubt anyone got anything remotely useful out of this. We all know filament goes on spools and that machines use them to print objects. There should’ve been a little more to this.
