Thanks for sharing this excellent instructional video on fixing a common fault in these transmissions. I have a Captiva that's just recently started flaring when shifting from 3rd to 4th and think, after watching this video, that replacing the solenoids should fix the problem. I bought the vehicle knowing it had a faulty transmission. It found it had a broken wavy ring and damaged the 4-5-6 gear drum. The filter was full of aluminium particles. I electrically tested and cleaned the solenoids at the time, but suspect they might have been damaged by all the aluminium particles being pumped through them. A pressure test probably would have shown they were not in top condition.

Hello!, I loved your video!, I have a buick verano 2015 that is not changing to 6th gear and is showing the same error, my question is if I change the solenoids do I need to reprogram the transmission somehow?, or I can change them without an issue and connect everything again hoping it to work?

I'm got P0796: PCS 3 (L/R 4-5-6) stuck Off, but slipping in only 5-6 gear only. Is there a possibility of a fault in the solenoid or 5/6 clutch?

Great video thank you🙏 question, I have a 2015 chevrolet impala 2lz. It wont shift to 4.5 or 6 gears. All the other gears are ok. Do you think that if i do a flush and add new fluid could aolve the problem? Any ideas? Thank you so much

hi, flush wont do diddly! you need to check solenoids and seals in the tcm assembly, the solenoids get contaminated or the plastic manifold breaks from pulsating pressure over long time, or the seals flatten out and you get pressure leaks. make sure you see our other vids on 6t40 or mechatronic vids to see what i mean. cheers

Hello, Mr.! I believe that sonnax solenoid chart, at 1-2-3-4 solenoid, are with on/off inverted. I mean, in according with the original service manual. Btw, great video! Cheers from Brasil.

hi, we`ve never had consistent luck in doing the in car solenoid cleaning with scantool. as explained in video, the debris and flattened seals are often the main issue. cheers

hi, clearing codes does not fix the problem. the same codes will return once the fault parameters are met. you need to fix the cause, then clear codes. cheers

I have no forward movement on my gearbox only reverse. If I manually shift into 2nd and 3rd i can feel a slightly bump in the seat and very little engine rev but I can't move forward. Reverse works perfectly. Can this job fix the issue ? or should i get an gearbox to replace mine ?

@@YepThatsIt I have bought an 6T30 trans from spares and I'm wondering that if it can replace mine which is 6T40. The trans overall looks the same and the connector on the TEHCM is the same. Thanks

I have the same issue with code p07bf when it's warm no drive at all only reverse, I replaced output and input speed sensor didn't fix it, any idea with this code p07bf. Thanks

@@dkconnect2626 try and replace 1234 gear solenoid and clean/inspect the valve body, that fixed my issue.
