Osiris Da Silva is widely regarded as a true hero. Embraer stands as a symbol of Brazil's technological advancements and represents a key distinction between Brazil and other countries in the Global South. No other country in the southern hemisphere possesses such advanced technologies and capabilities as Brazil. For instance, Australia lacks homegrown technologies in several sectors where Brazil excels. This positions Brazil as one of the most innovative and influential countries on the global stage.

The video gives an idea of a few things related to the history, but just an idea. It is good see at least some things of Brazil's aviation history being mentioned. The Brazilian Aviation History is so rich, but only a few people know the real facts in a whole and they are all Brazilians. We can start with Santos Dumont which is always overlooked and people around the world do not know anything about him and all things he invented due to the strong "northern propaganda" in favor of the "Brothers" and to put a shadow over Santos Dumont. It is always like this. We can see Boeing with Embraer a few years ago. Boeing was very smart to bring a lot issues to Embraer. "What comes around, goes comes around." See Boeing today with theirs issues. To understand the real Embraer history, you need to know about Brazil and Brazilian Air Force history which will bring you to many facts and one of them is Embraer coming into life. Bauru, is a city located in Sao Paulo State and it is about 340 km to Sao Paulo city, it is not in the suburb. The city has about 400 thousand people. The state of Sao Paulo is about 50 million people and city of Sao Paulo alone (without the suburb) is about 11 million people.

The history of Embraer goes back to a decision by the Brazilian government to build up its own national aviation industry after the end of the Second World War. The German Henrich Focke was asked in the 1950s to carry out development work in Brazil with some of his engineers. From 1952 to 1956 he developed several helicopters, the two-seater light helicopter Beija-Flôr (German: Kolibri) and the Convertiplane HC-1.[3] This work ultimately led to the founding of Embraer. In 1956 he returned from Brazil to Bremen.

They headed to the army quarters to find out the test was postponed few weeks. And the amy oficial who gave him the bad news, seeing that they were poor and might loose the oportunity, let they stay there until it was test day(wich is crazy for being against the army regiment) and somehow they ate and slept in the army quarters for days kind of in secret, helping around. Only a few days latter, one of the army mans wrote a letter to one of them mother, explaining the situation and when they would actualy get back. It is absurd to imagine what those two moms went trough for days until they were finaly noticed of what happened...(by gone era definitely)

The Aircraft factory in the brasilian city of Santa Luzia, known as the Fábrica Nacional de Aviões (FNA), can be seen as a precursor to Embraer in the sense that it was one of Brazil's earliest attempts to establish an aviation industry. Founded in the 1940s, this factory in Minas Gerais produced light aircraft and trainers, such as the Paulistinha, which was widely used for pilot instruction. Although the FNA didn't achieve the same success and longevity as Embraer, it played a role in laying the groundwork for Brazil's aeronautical engineering development, helping to train skilled workers and generating interest in the sector. This industrial effort was crucial in creating the environment that eventually led to the founding of Embraer in 1969. There was a significant transfer of skilled labor from the Fábrica Nacional de Aviões (FNA) in Santa Luzia, Minas Gerais, to São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, during the 1950s. This occurred when the Brazilian government decided to centralize aircraft production at the new Fábrica do Galeão, a larger industrial unit in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Centro Técnico de Aeronáutica (CTA) in São José dos Campos, which had been established in 1946. As part of this reorganization, many technicians and engineers from Santa Luzia were relocated to São Bernardo do Campo, where the Indústria Aeronáutica de São Paulo (IASP) began operations. Later, the aerospace hub in São José dos Campos, where Embraer was founded in 1969, inherited much of this technical expertise. This transfer was crucial for the development of the national aviation industry, as the accumulated technical knowledge eventually contributed to Embraer's success.

There is no problem in admitting that Embraer would not exist without the strength of the State training personnel, financing the factory, paying subsidies to regional companies operating Bandeirante and guaranteeing market reserves by taxing imported competitors.

Osiris Silva was one of the military engineers involved, but Embraer exists today because the United States imposed an embargo on the sale of Cessna T-27 planes to Brazil in response to its nuclear power plant development efforts, which the US tried to sabotage. As a result, the Brazilian Air Force found itself without a trainer airplane, prompting the military government to invest in Embraer. Another US embargo affected the F-5 Tiger fighters, where the US abandoned the agreement, leaving the Brazilian Air Force without the necessary upgrades and maintenance information. Due to these acts of sabotage and broken agreements, the Brazilian Air Force has decided not to purchase American combat planes anymore.
