My personal theory on it: many organized religions of the past wanted to outlaw occult knowledge. Why? Because people would discover their own personal intuition and consult their own guides. Why would they do this? So they can monopolize spiritual guidance within that group to maintain their hold on power. Anything that conflicts with the group is deemed to be "evil" because it's a challenge to the established order. Tarot draws on deep archetypal symbols and images that are universal. This is so relatable. I grew up nondemonational Christian too. I remember learning about horoscopes from a 17 magazine in highschool. I was obsessed with checking my horoscope but I had no idea there was more to your sun sign. Also when we learned about evolution and science in biology, I went with agnostic. and now... 5 years later, I'm spiritual. Love your story times alyssa!

Christians are taught that "new age" stuff like crystals and yoga will inevitably lead to....idk human sacrifice and devil worship? I agree that churches block people. I think my blockages were placed when I was baptized as a baby, and again when I was rebaptised as a teenager. It took some work, but I finally was able to shake free of those egregores and just live my life. Such a relief ;)

I bought my very first tarot cards this past December at Five Below. I went Christmas shopping a little stoned to help with my anxiety because gift shopping stresses me out. Anyway, I passed by this deck with a book and I felt drawn to the deck. Like something in me needed to buy them. Idk if that sounds weird but I felt connected to them like they were special to me. I grew up extremely Christian and am still a part of an extremely religious family even though I can't identify myself as fully Christian. I was deeply wounded by the religion but after years of healing and coming into acceptance for my own beliefs, I am now able to take some of the better qualities of Christianity and now that it's not all bad. I still find it hard to not have self-doubts with my new beliefs that feel right to me but were told so long they are wrong or evil. Being comfortable in my own beliefs is very hard for me. It's all a working process I guess.

Getting out of that “Christian” mindset is so hard. All those belief systems that were pounded into my head and heart for so many years did a number on me, especially trying to get away from it. I feel more connected to the universe as I have been learning to understand it on my own, but it’s still hard at times to stop those thoughts from clouding my mind, heart, and intuition. Yes, many ppl new to spirituality don't realize that when we lose crystals or when pendulums break are when they are no longer needed. Everything is definitely for a reason. I think the idea about "not reading your own cards" makes sense sometimes because your Ego can get in the way of interpreting your cards the right way. I read for myself more than I read for anybody else and I sometimes face this problem, where no matter how much I try to connect to my higher self, the ego is still present. And it can shift all the energies to match what I want to believe rather than what the cards are truly trynna tell me. Meditation in this case before reading tarot can help tremendously when trying to balance the two. I say balance because I don't think in any way that our Ego is bad or even evil, there just needs to be balance. And meditation helps with that.

Hearing about your journey was very enlightening for me, as I too grew up in an undenominational church and am still a Christian, but I love studying Astrology… especially through the connection it has to the physical universe via the science of physics. Many people dismiss this… I don’t. Everything in the universe gives off a vibration that can be measured scientifically including the earth. Are you familiar with the Schumann Resonance? It’s the vibrational frequency of the earth that we can tangibly measure… interestingly it’s become increasingly elevated over the past few years to levels that we’re never seen before. The planets have vibrational frequencies too. Mathematicians and physicists have estimated there may be as many as 10 different dimensions… we only experience 3. question: have you ever gotten into Gnosticism? i've never heard you talk about it but it seems like the perfect fit since it focuses a lot on the important feminine figures in christianity like mary magdalene. i think it uses the bible but i'm pretty sure it uncensored books that the catholic church may have left out on purpose or something. :)

Gnosticism is an interesting one, it is technically Christian because the belief is basically Christ comes from the Monad which is the supreme deity of the universe and there are things called Archons and Aeons, one of them being the God of the Old Testament so they basically call God the "Demiurge" which is either portrayed as evil or cruel or just simply the god of the material world. It is unbiblical when you compare Scripture and the majority of these books such as Thomas or Judas which are either influenced by other Gnostic beliefs (particularly Manichaeism) not to mention being written around the same time as the Talmud in 200 AD far after Christ and after the other NT books.

So the things you say seriously resonate with me. From the age 11 years old on I was raised Christian and I was fine with it then and I still am to this day. However- yes however lol..... I have always had so many questions about certain things. In church the one thing I was taught that just makes sense to me was about love and what it means. Both of my parents have their Doctorates in Theology and are ordained pastors. For majority of my life they had their own church as well. The things I was taught in church have really stuck with me but at the same time I’ve always wondered why certain things are called or considered evil... that does not make sense to me or maybe I’ve always wanted serious explanation for why.... my thoughts have always been that it’s all connected and why aren’t people trying to connect the dots.... it seems like people work harder at NOT connecting the dots .... wouldn’t this help close the gap between so many people feeling so lost and also help the idea of love light and unity expand and become more of a reality?!? I am a cancer sun sign and I know a few other things in my natal chart because I do feel a serious draw within myself to have a better understanding. 2020 rocked my world as I am sure many others feel the same but I now have this major desire to not just wish I had a better understanding for this journey I am on, but to have a CONFIDENCE in my understanding for my journey.... I am also one who loves learning in order to gain a perspective I am content with but I also know I am forever changing and evolving and just simply growing. The thought of reaching a final aha moment where I allow myself to become complacent I am pretty sure could be an impossibility for me. I’ve definitely walked down paths that have landed me in some pretty torturous places but I’ve also gotten to the other side and have been thankful for some of the worst things I have gone through because when I get to the other side the growth was so worth it. I only listened to the first few minutes of this before my comment and never comment on anything really but the little bit I did hear hit me between my eyes.... my background being raised Christian blocks me from going deeper into all of this although the pull I feel is so so so strong. I’ve always been quite intuitive and have had a strong discernment during this journey of mine ... so much so I have always felt like a square peg trying to fit into a round hole... but the sad truth is I was good at it, little did I know about how damaging that was when it comes to self love.... I had resentment toward something for most of my life for always feeling this way. I hope I get to a place where I gain an understanding into my higher self as well! Any tips and clarity you can offer on getting there is much appreciated and I can assure you won’t be forgotten!!

I used to think tarot was evil & I had a deck as a teenager. I believed I ripped it up and threw it out. Years later I got into it and I did a reading. I got “weird chills” when I did a reading and I got automatic messages from them. Some people I can read very easily. It definitely makes sense with my chart. Thank you for this video. A lot of people especially Christians don’t understand spirituality. Something that has been around for ages and used in other cultures/religions. I was raised Christian and taught to fear things like a snake. In life people are programmed to fear what they don’t understand and I just find it crazy that once I told God I wanted a stronger relationship I moved away from the church and into spirituality. I had OCD for a while when I was younger. I used to do things more than once where I would repeat my actions until it was an even number. It would go from 4-32 even 68 sometimes. It was at its worst in my preteen years. Not everyone noticed it which was good, but everyone in my household did as it was only intensified there. It was subtle in public although when I was in 6th grade, one of my teachers could kinda tell. My OCD came from being baldy mentally abused by an extreme narcissist that I had as a friend in my childhood-early preteen years. Back then, I didn’t even realize I was being abused that often until my dad would correct her. I had no idea what had happened until after she was gone out of my life. It was very hard as I had a few other things that was mentally harmful going on at the time.

I was raised Catholic but in my teens stopped following. I got married, had 2 kids and decided to start studying astrology and tarot around 8 years ago. Recently, I find myself kinda going back to my Catholic upbringing. Is that bad? Can I believe in both astrology and Catholicism?

I can relate in a lot of ways. I grew up Seventh Day Adventist and went to their schools starting in 7th grade. I always felt like so many things weren't right and there's more out there. I wanted answers, Truth, even if it went against everything I was taught to believe. And doors to the Truth began opening. The blocks are hard to remove. But I've shed most of it I think. I still fight it at times. But I hate rules too. Always have. I love my Tarot decks. The bring me comfort, the same way the Bible always did (it still does). They are all just tools. The real Truth is within. Even Jesus said that. I still believe Jesus came to teach us but I think people have missed or misunderstood the message but I have all kinds of thoughts about that. Whole different topic lol

I think you might be interested in what *Crow777* says on their show. Check them out on PodBean, not KZbin. They renamed astrology "the Sky Clock" to help cut through old/religious programming. They have a lot of different guests and topics. You could look for "Sky Clock" episodes as it may be more interesting to you initially.

I had aChristian woman trying to convert me! When I wouldn’t give up astrology she dumped me and I was homeless at that time. She didn’t care & I had to remove my things from her shed.
