Getting ready to review the new LG WM6998HA and having to do my homework on condensors vs. heat pumps as condensors are VERY uncommon here in the states. Thanks so very much for all of this!

Thanks very much. I have a Hotpoint TCEL 87B, which is taking a long time to dry anything and is not filling the water reservoir. The warm airflow from the drum and the cool airflow from the room still seem to be working, and no water is leaking from the bottom. Is it likely to be the heating element failing?

this is NOT how the drying works on a washer dryer though, very different process. There is no heat exchanger on a washer dryer.

Some dryers also channel condensed water to house drain system making it way less hassle to use..
@lizquinn19088 ай бұрын
Stupid question but I'll ask anyway...why is there a need from the small reservoir "bit" at the bottom, the float switch then the pump to get the water up top? Why don't all condensr dryers have the collection tank at the bottom? All I can see is more stuff to go wrong, but there's obviously a reason for it :)
@How-to-repair8 ай бұрын
Very good point the small reservoir holds about quarter of a litre when this is full it then has enough fluid to fill the pipe to transfer the water to the top, if it was trying to pump with less water, it would only be filling the pipe and then it would flow back down when the pump is turned off. Hope that answers your question As an ageing appliance engineer, my expertise lies more in the domain of domestic devices than in IT, resulting in a limited understanding of KZbin video optimisation. Consequently, my videos might not reach their full potential due to these IT constraints. Nevertheless, they offer invaluable aid to those who encounter them. Great video, thank you. I have a Zanussi ZDC8202p condenser dryer and the water keeps leaking from underneath and not collecting in the water container at the top. It is level and I’ve cleaned the condenser and the primary filter. Any suggestions on what I can check next? Thanks 😊

The water Kalex on the condenser plate then it runs down the plastic to the pump system or two a collection bowl. If any of these fittings are blocked. You may have a problem and sometimes the plastic can get cracked on the base of the machines so do inspect this as well. glad we could help you @shellyrose6732 this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. I have heard that condenser dryers emit moist air into the room. According to your diagram, it looks like the humid air is confined to a closed system. Can you comment on the amount of moisture that is given out by a condenser dryer? Thanks
@How-to-repair Жыл бұрын
there should not be a lot of humidity going into the room that humidity should actually be absorbed on the condenser plate. glad we could help you Nowthen AD this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. Thanks 👍

Based on my experience condensers emit moist air, I have my dryer in the toilet and when I use it I have to keep the door open. I had another experience as well when there was a leakage in the condenser circuit and it was not drying, it was the time a lot of moisture was released in the air. BTW my suggestion id to keep the door open if it's confined in a small room. -TheHandymanItaly

Do heat pump dryers release moist air into the room?
@How-to-repair10 ай бұрын
No the moisture is connected on the evaporator and then pumped to your container

Thanks for the upload. I’ve got a condenser dryer and for some reason the condensed water won’t show in the reservoir located at the back of the device. I’ve tested the pump - it’s working, however there’s no water to pump, the reservoir is almost empty as well as the upper container. When I remove the condenser unit it’s always loaded with water so I assume the condensed water can’t get to the back reservoir in order to be pumped up to the upper container. How the condensed water should get to the back reservoir?

Sorry for the late reply I was away on a few days holiday. I will need the full make and model number of your machine but normally this is because the water is not draining from the heat exchange unit to the reservoir. There are usually some small tubes and these can clog up with fluff.. glad we could help you Bihari Tamás this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. @@How-to-repair hi, thanks for coming back to me. I managed to figure out what the problem was. The condensed water gets drained into a reservoir at the back of the machine and from there there is a hole leading towards the main reservoir loacted at the back panel. That’s the reservoir with the pump. So the hole at the first reservior was conpletly blocked with some greasy stuff hence the water couldn’t drain towards the main reservoir. I cleaned the hole and tested by pouring a glass of water in the first reservoir to see if the water disappears. It worked like a charm so now the whole system is working fine😊

I have a question. I have a condenser in a small utility room. The walls are external so the humidity is weeping onto the walls. I have a vent in the room, is there a way I can make the room less damp? Shall I connect the vent in the wall to the air intake (cold air) or let the warm air escape out. I could install an extractor fan but it may effect the efficiency of the dryer, because the warm air is being extracted.

A couple of things that might be causing the problem. Make sure the machine is 100% level. Secondly, inspect the plastic underside sometimes they can get damaged in transit. If none of these are a problem, then I suggest you call the manufacturer glad we could help you Jamie this is for you kzbin.infoe432SAb2g08 please remember to subscribe as that's what keeps this channel going. The comment about inefficiency at lower (eg garage) temps doesn't make sense to me. I would think the colder the condenser plate the better and quicker the condensation? Why not, if that's not the case? Of course, you wouldn't want to be running it anywhere near freezing, cos then you'd be dealing with ice formation.

I guess is because the air will be cooled down too much and it take extra time and effort for the heater to reheat them to the desired temperature, I can’t think of any other explanation
