this helps so much! i got an injury that took me out of dancing for a little over a year & i'm trying to get back in but i've been stuck in the technical side of choreo & not just letting things flow. having someone explain & do it in front of me definitely helps me shift my mindset so i will hopefully be back & better than ever!

hrm, for me no. and in performances/competitions, we might have to be in mirror positions where we end up using our non-dominant sides too. so I think we do get used to it.

Sometimes you have to dance to a song you don’t like, but even then, you have to learn it and feel that song so anticipates the timing changes and the beats you need to hit. Sometimes it’s more fun and brings more creativity to dance to something you enjoy, but usually it’s more about sinking into the musicality of whatever you’re dancing to.
