what kind of abrasive are you using? i use a medium grit silica bases sand and would like to find a less dusty abrasive that cuts quicker? Any quick tips on alignment right before placing stencil on the monument?

I use aluminum Oxide brown #34 from wwwfsscompany.com But I wear it down sandblasting in the shed at full strength until it’s powdery , well don’t want to waste the good stuff in a cemetery doing dates. For alignment... if a double headstone then make a line at the top or bottom of the text on the stencil . Then a Centre line through the text. Then place a center line through the birth date on the stone ( in pencil ) Now if it’s a double headstone, you can then with a long metal ruler draw a line to make what you did on the stencil ( top or bottom of text) to run across one side to the other... the line up the stencil to the center line and cross line. At the same time peel a piece of the stencil corner to stop it from sliding. Then finally protect the area around the text/ stencil with more stencil so you don’t frost the polished stone. Hope that helps.👍🏽

@@wolfeman1966 Amazing, I will order a some bags to test out. I am in the process of continuing on a family business here in North Carolina, and have almost 10 years experience but have only learned from one teacher, my grandfather. I do my dates very similar, they can be a pain though LOL. Thank you for your valuable advice And will try and report back how I liked the new abrasive.

@@wolfeman1966 I think it would provide value to many people who are unsure of what goes into it. Ive thought about doing a series of how to videos and attach them to the business
