Another wonderful home tour from Stacked Homes. This loving, designer mum has so artfully and skillfully designed a beautiful and comfortable home for her family. So many ingenious ideas, from the raised storage platforms to allow for desks with a view, to those floating shelves with added black rods. I watched the video twice before I heard her mention the way they were devised; I had been trying to work out how those rods were supporting the shelves! The home seems so comfortable and cosy, customised for their needs and she has used vertical space well. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

my favourite era of home design: homely, comfortable, and timeless (in my opinion at least), quiet beauty coupled with good quality, unlike the current millennial home design era which is peppered with a lot of low-quality material/wood (not their fault; things just got expensive) and fancy designs (that's how trends and fashion works; it wans to differ from the previous gen-- just take a look at gen z's adopting our parents' fashion, while millennial went for the exact opposite, i.e. tight shirts and skinny jeans). I'm a 90s millennial btw.

in short, i find the previous era of design (i.e. Gen X) akin to cartier 1895 wedding bands: Understated but beautiful. millennial home designs are akin to cartier love bands (with the logos and designs).
