This is fucking phenomenal work. I think we can chalk this up to all the copycatting of the Seahawks single-high, despite not having the personnel to make it work, was getting secondaries torched. Putting your CBs, especially young and inexperienced ones, on islands in zone coverage without elite safety help is a recipe for disaster. But the league has been trending back to more two-deep shells to slow down all the pass-happy vertical offenses the last few years. This jives with what Pees brought to the Falcons, and it seems especially suited for Terrell specifically. Smart zone corner who can play with proper technique at all times but also have 1st round athleticism. Very interesting that his man coverage also increased. I would bank on that being them cleaning up his technique, because as you pointed out he was playing too far off at release in "no man's land" where he's too far off to get hands on but too close to flat-foot things etc. If he can at least be "good" in man like he was last year while being a dominant zone corner, he's going to have a nice long career as a Pro Bowler. Side note, I wonder if this helps explain why PFF has been slamming almost every LB in coverage the last 2 years. You hit the nail on the head with that one catch, which was technically in his coverage area but not his direct fault, but more the scheme's fault. And I think that can help explain what might be going on with LBs. If defenses were running a lot of Cover-3 and offenses were going downfield in their gameplan to beat it or otherwise checking down underneath it, that doesn't leave too many opportunities for LBs to screw up in coverage. And those check downs give them opportunities to clean up with stops underneath which help boost coverage scores. But if defenses switch to running more 2-deep to slow down pass-happy offenses, then that means offenses are working the intermediate areas more often with route concepts specifically designed to prey on the LBs underneath. Either with hi-lo stuff or triangle reads to stretch areas etc. Being targeted in the scheme more often means more opportunities to screw up and get downgraded, so if this is happening across the league I could understand why LB grading could've taken a hit lately.

He only allowed Robby Anderson (108) & Mike Evans (117) to get over 100 yards on him, that's not bad for a rookie season. I respect Billy Stepens opinion about A.J. being the worst CB in 2020.
