There are a few reasons I can think of. 1. That's 20 years in the future plenty of time for anything to happen. 2. The plot appears to have been mostly to claim his business and money and now that she's in prison, and him marrying to another woman soon, she's cartoonishly unlikely to get any of his wealth. 3. I assume you are referring to him forgiving her. That's seems to be more for his own emotional well-being rather than an acknowledgment that her deeds had a justified side. 4. Even if she sought after him for revenge after prison, that would be easily anticipated, and there would have been many years to implement precautions. She was clearly not some criminal mastermind, so a flawless revenge plan is unlikely. 5. It's clearly not in his his nature to be paranoid, or acknowledge dangers. This dude met up with Lulu even after an unpleasant divorce, and didn't notice the Chinese state parade level of Red Flags she emitted over the course of their relationship. He even found it in himself to trust another woman and marry her after this.
