Thank you! This was very helpful. I have opened my microwave and this switch fall apart, because he is not glued together and I had to use some force to pull the switch out of the cage with the two parallel microswitches. Now I could make it working. It is useless to threw away a whole device because of a tiny fix-able problem.

sometimes you can sand them and they will make contact again. Sometimes they're shot though.

Are the switches interchangeable if they are the same amp?

@@youcanfixit3721 Of course. The switch on my space heater wasn't working properly and I accidentally let the pieces fall out when I opened it...it was like working an annoying puzzle with a 5 pound weight attached to it. Very annoying. All good now and I understand the switch better!

Glad to see your post with the inside pieces of micro switch, which is just like mine. Mine fell apart when I separated the plastic cover. Now I can see from your example how it all fit together in the holder, except how to place the brass clip or spring. One side has small slits on both sides that locks into something. I can see from example where it should go. But, how do I put it in place?

@@MorAcht I think I had your same issue, but trying to explain the fix might be confusing, but here goes. Looking at 2:44, the metal with 2 right angles in it (connected to the red prong), bends twice and is surrounded by another fitting, which contain the brass clip/spring. The left end (coverd in the video) of the brass clip/spring slips into the center of the 2 right angle piece, then the surrounding fitting is slipped over the top of both pieces, creating a lever system. Those 3 pieces are then slipped into the plastic case. Keep in mind, I and not certain I remember it correctly, nor that the problem I had is what you described. So don't get hung up on my advice if it doesn't work.
