Without Karl Benz, there would be no engine no car to produce. Creating, innovating and producing cars were not an easy feat. Without Bertha Benz and her support, Karl benz's cars wouldn't survive. She proved that Benz's cars are essential and reliable when she drove the car over long distances. Kudos to both of them. Beautiful partnership.

Rich Austrian guy wo loved racing asked Daimler company to build car for him so he can race, they did it and he won race, so as a reward from Daimler he get to name his car as he wants, since he had daughter called Mercedes he gave that name and the rest is history.

Bertha taking her sons in the ‘car’ was the true marketing genius.. I have a feeling the creator of this fascinating quick history is not yet a parent… A parent, especially a mother, who is so confident in the safety of a new & scary technology that she would not only allow her child to be in, but both her boys with her driving and going 60 miles… That was the reason for the rapid interest & increasing support of the automobile..

The birthplace of Carl Benz was torn down in the 1950s to make room for more cars (yes, the irony). Still, a small correction: It wasn't the town of Mühlberg, but Mühlburg, which is a district in the city of Karlsruhe (the difference being one character or 350 miles). Karlsruhe was the birthplace of both the bicycle (Karl Drais) and the automobile (Carl Benz).

Per web search: The Mercedes-Benz logo was created by Paul and Adolf Daimler, the sons of Gottlieb Daimler, and was inspired by a postcard their father sent in 1872: Origin Gottlieb Daimler used a three-pointed gold star on postcards to mark his family's home while working away from them. In 1924, the Daimler-Motoren-Gesellschaft (DMG) and Benz & Cie. merged, and the two companies' logos were combined in 1925. The laurel wreath from the Benz logo was combined with the three-pointed star from DMG.

Thanks sharing. Carl Benz and the Creation of Mercedes-Benz: Mercedes-Benz, one of the world's oldest and most luxurious car brands, originated from Carl Benz, a poor German engineer. Born in 1844 into poverty, Carl's brilliance in mechanics and chemistry flourished thanks to his mother's sacrifices for his education. After years of experimentation and setbacks, he created the first automobile, the Benz Patent Motorwagen, in 1885. Initially met with skepticism, Carl's wife, Bertha Benz, played a pivotal role in showcasing the car’s potential. Her historic journey in the vehicle demonstrated that automobiles were the future, helping Benz gain recognition. In 1926, after economic struggles and World War challenges, Benz merged with Daimler to form Daimler-Benz, giving rise to the Mercedes-Benz brand. During World War II, the company faced criticism for using forced labor in military production. However, post-war efforts rebuilt the brand, and Mercedes-Benz emerged as a global symbol of luxury and innovation. Despite his humble beginnings, Carl Benz’s determination and vision laid the foundation for one of the world’s most iconic car brands.

01:10 This is a powerful reminder of how a single person's vision, despite all the obstacles, can change the world. Carl Benz's dedication is truly inspiring, even if the later history of the company is definitely complicated

It's very difficult to put into words what a visionary Carl Benz was - and how important his wife was in him suceeding.

It’s the bitter truth!!! One must have complete hardworking, dedication, devotion and complete honesty towards his goal; one can achieve!!! But nowadays we have noticed that beware of politics & politicians!!! So great 🌺🙏👍

We thank God for granting Karl Benz as The Father of Automobile & Bertha Ringer as The Mother of Automobile 🏆 👏 🥰... Without the determination of these 2 individuals along with the emergence thereafter of Gottlieb Daimler, Wilhelm Maybach & Emil Jellinek, we may still be relying on horses and steam power today 🤗 🤷♀️

@@Passportbroski Seeing how humans evolved with time, this is very true indeed 👍... Benz, Ringer, Daimler, Maybach & Jellinek were those whom seized the opportunity of their respective moments despite the various obstacles they had to endure 👏 🏆

Carl Benz was born in MühlbUrg, not MühlbErg. It's part of the city Karlsruhe now, which is in Baden-Württemberg, while Mühlberg is in Thüringen.
