The guy is truly amazing, and I can relate just a little bit with his story. I served as an infantry soldier Vietnam 68/69 and was wounded and sent home a paraplegic. About two years after I was released from the VA and came home an old buddy of mine who had a private pilot's license offered to take me flying. During the flight he mentioned to me that there was an aircraft built called an Ercoupe that had no rudder pedals that I could fly. I started looking for an Ercoupe that was for sale. I found one not far away and bought it and took lessons much to the FAA dislike. I flew my 1946 Ercoupe 415-C 87101 for ten years out of a small airstrip in the country. I failed my biannual due to high B/P after ten years of flying and my wife and I were expecting are first child and flying was an expense I had to let go. I know times have changed and flying isn't as Strick with who can learn to fly and who can't today. I'm 80 yrs old today and it's just harder to do everything. God bless this young man for proving those that doubted you can't say anything anymore.

Amazing story! Congratulations to this young man, parents and wife. His being hard headed paid off. Much success to you young man. You are teaching many that the greatest disability is the lack of believing in oneself.

Absolutely amazing. You had another young man on your show. The “can’t swim a stroke” young man named Gerald! And he became a star on the swim team ! And I believe those words came out of his mouth too!

On this day of this interview he came to my store to shop with his wife and his baby girl to announced that he was about to get married, but I didn’t know that he was going to be interviewed by CBS. Couple days later they came back and she showed me the interview and said that she told him not be late for the wedding. They are an amazing family. He deserves all the awards for not giving up on his dreams.

Im a 5 time amputee ( both legs ,left hand, right middle finger and the tip of my ring finger, plus my legs have been re-amputated 5 times) and I think its pretty awesome this place took the time to realize that when it comed to these type things, driving and whatnot they make equipment to help us, and with that equipment its just as safe and just as dangerous as an abke bodied people doing the flying! For the most part lol

They can technically get in trouble for doing that seeing as they clearly denied him because if it’s disability which is by law discrimination
