The five elements that make our universe are nothing but the essence of Shiva/Shakti that is depicted in the last figure as Shi Yantra. Sri Ramana Maharshi used to say that Mount Arunachala (Thiruvanamalai) is Shiva itself taking that specific form and that every stone of that mountain can be regarded as a lingam. He used to encourage all his devotees to do regular circumambulation of the mountain.

Isn't the first one Ekambareshwar Temple in Kanchipuram? The element of Earth. Actually there is no real order per se but I'm going just by the correspondence to the chakras. Earth element being the root chakra. 1. Earth - Muladhara - Ekambareshwar - Kanchipuram 2. Water - Svadisthana - Jambu Lingam - Thiruvanaikal 3. Fire - Manipura - Arunachaleswarar - Tiruvannamalai 4. Air - Anahata - Kalahastheeswara Temple - Srikalahasthi 5. Akash - Vishudda - Nadaraja temple - Chidambaram Visiting the temples in this order, means the chakras r gradually awakened in an ascending order. Not a must tho. We get to visit the ones we are blessed to n when the time is right. Strangely, the first temple i visited after having an awakening was Ekambareshwar Temple in Kanchipuram. I was an atheist before that.

Yes, all the 5 Temples are part of Tamilagam but has been carved out due to politics as part of Andhra Pradesh. Thirupathi or its original name of Thiruvengakatam was the northern border of Tamilagam. This is well documented in ancient Tamil literature. In fact when I first visited the temple back in 1972, you will find pretty much all the inscriptions on the temple walls and pillars in Tamil. Today all of this has been hidden by placing plates over these inscriptions.

Video about srisialam pls, their official website says temple has been since satya yuga, it may be one of the oldest lingam, since they let is touch it it is super eroded called vruddha mallikarjuna swamy.. so this particular lingam doesn't have the base shakti(may be it's before Shiva met Parvati) Internet doesnt have much info on srisialam a video on that pls. They say srisialam is the navel(of what i don't know), Apparently this is the fav place of Shiva after kailash( whether if it's his planet or the mountain not sure).. Also another video if possible about placement of 9 Vishnu Avatar temples. I know long of debate and currently agreed theory is steppe hypothesis.. want to throw in a hypothesis that it may have evolved from South India.. current prominent DNA studies focus on paternal DNA but in south one can marry someone on maternal uncles side.

Please use the original Tamil names for these temples. These Sanskrit names were forced upon these temples much later. Please go back to the Saivite Nayanmars as how they describe and refer to these temples in their thevarams. Thank you.

The other reason for you to use the original Tamil Names because all of them are built based on Tamil Temple architecture and all located in Tamil Nadu. Kalahasti was always part of Tamil Nadu until it was ceded to Andra Pradesh during the delineation of the boundaries of the states after Independence.

Hinduism consists of many symbols and each symbol has a philosophy behind it. We must take the lesson hidden behind each symbol and drop the symbol aspect. But... unfortunately people are holding on to the symbols and doing their analysis surrounding the symbols. In the process, they get into rituals / superstitions around the symbols and form a religion also. This symbol-based-damage has happened to Hinduism in the medieval period 500-1500AD. Very unfortunate, all the temples have become miracle centers / superstitions promoting centres (added to that astrology etc are concretising the notions built around the symbols) Mankind has to come out of this game around symbols to get the real benefits of Hinduism!
