I dont believe for a second it was an administrative error for Duncan McGuire. Word on the street is Rovers have an outstanding bill to HMRC for around £25m, Venkys are under investigation in India and are struggling to send money to the club. When Wharton was sold to Palace for £18m (£22m with add ons), the Blackburn board informed the recruitment team no cash transfers would be permitted. McGuire was changed from a £2.7m transfer to a loan with a £700,000 loan fee, £5m to make it permanent and a further £2.5m in add ons. So a £2.7m transfer would not cost in excess of £8m, when the recruitment team took it back to the board I think they were told to fuck off and to save face they 'accidentally forgot to press submit' instead of cancel the deal and look like clowns to the player, agent and Orlando. Cos while an 'admin error' may look comical, it doesn't look as bad as spending weeks negotiating a deal with a club and player that you never had the funding to complete.

An Indian here. I can confirm that Balaji Rao, the Venky’s owner is under no legal problems here. venky’s shares’ are doing well. He’s just a big party animal with no interest in Blcakburn whatsoever.

Doesn’t surprise me at all with Rovers. We’re somehow even more of a joke now! Cowboys in suits

As if a Mickey Mouse club like Blackburn could ever attract a player when United are interested.

Quite a few in the early 90s come to us instead of United, Shearer is the most famous one who chose Ewood over Old Trafford. Henning Berg and David May swapped sides a couple of times, a few years later Brett Emerton and Matt Jansen both chose Blackburn over United too. Emerton said United wanted him to be the next David Beckham and Brett was quite a quiet person he didn't find that appealing.

Obviously your young. Keane actually agreed to join them. BRFcC were owned by a Tycoon and his money bought them success and attracted top players. Know your history.

@@craigseddon4884United would never ever say they wanted another David Beckham. What kind of football club would say anything so preposterous to a potential signing. "I suppose I would not have played a lot there" is what Emerton said, and he was right.

@-BuddyGuy I don't they literally said "we want you to be the next Beckham", I think the talks were about Emerton being a marketing machine for United in Oceania.
