Jadurberia village is the shuttlecock capital of India where workers have been making badminton birdies for generations. But the rise of mechanized assembly lines and the popularity of synthetic shuttlecocks are threatening to shut down small factories like the Niyogi family's Dodo Shuttles.

*The decline in the feather shuttlecock market was due to the emergence of synthetic shuttlecocks.* Although, the trajectory and flight of the feather shuttlecocks are unmatchable, durability is sub-par which is a major concern for aspiring players. On contrast, the synthetic shuttlecocks are really durable making it a more economical option. If manufacturers could find a way to match the durability with a competitive price then there is a hope for revival otherwise it's _death is inevitable._

You can grind the feather in shuttle cocks and use it as a fertilizer for strong wood trees like Coconut Tree or for palm trees. The Synthetic shuttlecocks are grade 3 plastic which is really really really harmful to both the land and the water that we use and it's impossible to recycle it because shuttlecocks are only discarded when worn, worn plastics are no good to recycle again because it also takes much energy to do it

Insider team has done great service to humanity by making these videos - Still standing, World Wide Waste, So Expensive. The sheer craftsmanship, the hard work, the passion it's not only inspiring but it makes us aware of what we want to see in the future and not the continuous onslaught of cut corner products which pollute and aren't really good in the first place.
