This amazing backyard was a place where she and her husband could relax and share memories together. Now that he has passed and she is in a wheelchair, no one is there to take care of it and over the past couple of years it has gotten away from her. Beautiful yard, beautiful job. I love that you don't just chop bushes into non existence. They took years to mature and it's nice to see someone that cares about them to just clean up. I'm hoping someone would rebuild her ramp in back so she can get into her yard.

Looks amazing Jon! I didn’t see and wheelchair ramps anywhere. Maybe you can find a volunteer or her church to put in ramps for her so she can enjoy her yard. Just an idea! I love that fountain! Wished it worked. That would be pretty to listen to

What you do is amazing. The trouble is you take yards so far gone, and you can only do so much in the time you have. It would have been nice if you had the time to trim all the low hanging limbs from the trees. It blows my mind that you did all that without using a mower once.

What you are doing is wonderful. Just one question why do you put the grass clippings under the bushes does it do anything for them?

Hi Jodie. Thank you 😊. That’s a great question and thank you for asking. Others have been giving advice instead of asking the reason behind it, lol. So, there are a few reasons I put the clippings back under the shrubs. One reason is for weed prevention. Another is for added nutrients to that area (nitrogen). Another is it helps retain moisture to feed the plant (not that they needed it but it does help a bit). And lastly, I didn’t have enough space to haul away everything so I had to pick my battles. I’d rather choose to return nutrients to the soil and prevent further weeds if possible….instead of letting clippings from blackberries, shrubs, or trees lay on the ground that will more likely just be problematic in the future. 😊👍 Do have a suggestion for the future? It might not have been the prettiest of methods but I think it worked out. Since then, this lady has had me return to mow it all and it looks fine and has served its purpose.

It was a racer snake. It is a common tall grass snake here in Oregon.

Why did he not trim the tree branches instead of clipping them, he still could not stand to weed wack the grass and hedges needed to be cut lower so if she get help next time the hedges would have grown larger.

This was an apple tree and I didn’t want to take away many fruit bearing branches. Plus the lady asked me to keep as much as I could on the tree. Her property so she makes the rules 😊👍 I just took some away so it was at least possible for me to get through.
