I'm an Iraq vet and I can totally relate. I'm basically a shut-in at this point, terrified to leave my house. My lawn is out of control because it's impossible to care about such trivial things when I can't find a reason to get dressed in the morning. The fact that he answered the door through his window was hilarious to me. He is still holding down the fort in his mind. That's basically his guard tower. I hope he's at least getting help from the VA. I recently qualified through the PACT Act and it basically saved my life.

Honestly, he had a lot more issues there than a stollen lawnmower, but I'm so glad he was open to allowing you to do a complete throw cleanup. You are right. Hopefully, this will give him a reset to keep it up from a clean slate. I have to tell you how much I appreciate all you do. I enjoy watching your work so much because you do so much to truly transform a home and property. So many that I have watched for years seems to do so much less than you do. Its amazing to watch.

I lost my father at age ten. He was killed in a trucking accident and was crushed. At the funeral, everyone told me this. One aunt actually told me that he was stuffed. I was horrified and completely shut down and never grieved. My parents were divorced so my mother wasn’t allowed to attend the funeral with me. She had to wait outside in the car. I became super shy after the funeral and my mother never spoke of him after that. Seven years later when my grandmother died, I had a total breakdown and cried for a month. I was crying for my father and not really for my grandmother. No one in my family offered support or help. So I finally started therapy in my thirties after my mother died of breast cancer. Therapy was extremely difficult but my therapist was my guardian angel and helped me understand grief and myself. God bless you for sharing your story.

I believe Sean will eventuall get to doing this - a chap in the UK started by pressure washing drives for the elderly to keep them safe - then started pruning back bushes and generall overgrown - in just a year, he has helped several with complete makeovers - a lady with a tree that had landed on her roof - a whole load of local trades came together to help him sort her yard and house, & subscribers donated ££££; another older gentleman with a hole through the kitchen ceiling, and hte back of the house in dire need of a rebuild, but with heart failure and a bedridden wife - that's a work in progress- another 96year old lady with brambles growing into the house through the rotten window frames - Ben was finding people in such dire need, he said he couldnt just walk away; now his Dad, his uncle, and countless local trades are adding in their support and making a world of difference, backed by a huge subscriber base - I can see Sean going that route, especially as he ventures into the poorer neighbourhoods

I got myself one almost a year and a half ago, because I was tired of waiting for my son to come by with my chainsaw that he "borrowed", along with my hedge trimmer and edger. He thought he was helping because after a lung resection and major nerve damage on my left side I was told to take it easy....yeah right. I went out eventually and got an electric mower, wheeled edger/trimmer, and the mini chainsaw. I can do most of what I want to do in pieces parts... a little at a time. but I absolutely love that little six inch chainsaw!

One house i lived in, the neighbors didnt have any grass on their property, except for the strip out the front. So when i was doing the lawns out back and doing my nature strips, always did hers. Never had to by biscuits while living there, they just miraculously appeared on my front door!

@pcodignoni9344 You never know. Everyone is busy. This guy doing the work has professional tools and is paid by the media to take two full days to do all this stuff. Who if us has a trailer and the time to go to the dump multiple times and a powerful mower to plow through huge weeds? I got a dinky mower for grass that's just a week too tall, not 4 years too tall. And an electric weedeater for polite and tender weeds. No. This was a job for industrial tools.

Hey Sean, here’s a little idea that you might now start to do since you have become pretty established, see if you can start a network up of help organizations with contact numbers for folks in need like this guy. I mean his house is obviously in disrepair. A number of you could all know each other, and then just give a recommendation to somebody who needs a certain thing done like siding, painting, plumbing, electrical… And so on

Hello I’m from Winnipeg Manitoba Canada and I’ve been watching your videos for a while. I love how you pickup the garbage first before you start you are a real inspiration to many. Keep up the great work. I wish we had some people like you in our community, I try to help people with lawns and gardens but most people don’t even care about their property. I’m going around now offering people if they would like me to plant some flowers in their yard and it seems to be working so far. Thank you again . I’m a 68 year old woman that still works at an elementary school and not ready to retire. I love my job and the students that attend there. I live in the community and am on the committee to help people that need it especially the young people. Enough about me . Looking forward to your new projects ❤

Thank you Sean. What you did for this gentleman is so kind. Veterans come home and they are treated less than. They put their lives on the line for us, and their Country. Only for people to then ignore them, and treat them horribly. In my opinion they are beyond heroic. You helped show him he is worthy, and that you appreciate what he has done. We need more people in this world like you. Many blessings. 💝🌿

Some home owners may not be able to physically able to help even in a small way with the clean up. Others may have a mental condition eg agoraphobia preventing them coming outside, others might be just shy or embarrassed that their yards are so overgrown . The Neighbours also should have offered to help or just go over to clean up the trash, make sure the bins are out and not overflowing etc . Probably sometimes the neighbours might be the ones reporting the property for code violations anonymously

I'd like to thank that veteran for his service. We don't know what he might have gone through and witnessed. MS, thank you too for helping him out. A huge mess cleaned up and gives him room and time to try to maintain it. Those downed trees at the front! Why didn't the city take them??? Cutting much of it back at the front, sides and back gives him a much better space to live in. I wonder if he could get some VA services to help him out? Can't wait for next Monday.
